The video begins and we find ourselves not in a dramatic location this time but on the inside of a hotel room. There are photographs on the wall the camera is pointed at that seem to be of iconic locations within Texas, implying the hotel room could well be in the Lone Star State, perhaps in or around Dallas ahead of Breakdown. The camera rolls for a few moments before we see Zoe Sperling, known internationally by her stage-name Syren, step in front of the camera. She’s dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt that reads ‘STILL STANDING’ across the front. She doesn’t quite look to be her normal self, although there are no obvious signs of the war that she endured a little over a week ago, but there seems to be something about her posture that indicates that she’s still feeling the impact of it all. “Hey everyone,” she begins, giving the camera a little wave. “Now I know that after what happened at Retribution, after stepping in to one of the most brutal matches of my life against one of the most sadistic opponents I’ve ever faced, you perhaps didn’t expect to see me here tonight. You want to know a secret? I wasn’t sure I’d be up for this either. My body hasn’t fully recovered from everything that happened on Sunday yet. I’ve got bruises. I’ve got aches. I’ve got a few new scars to remember the whole situation by. But as much as my body is hurting right now, there’s something that’s hurting a lot more than that and that’s my pride. I stepped in to the Thunderdome on Sunday night with one goal in mind, and that was to win. I wanted to end the torment I’ve been through ever since the Elimination Chamber with something positive. I wanted to stand up to the monsters of this world and I wanted to tell them that they couldn’t have everything they wanted. And on Sunday night, I didn’t do that. On Sunday night, inside the Thunderdome, I lost.”

“There have already been tweets about it,” she says with a sigh. “Aiken Frost has already been ranting about how an angel had her wings clipped on Sunday and how dominant his wife is as a result. And that’s the message they want to send out, isn’t it? That’s the message they want the world to hear. Rachel Frost is unbeatable. Rachel Frost is a brawler. Rachel Frost holds the world in the palm of her hand. That’s the message that they want you to hear, but it’s not the truth. The truth is that, at the end of the day, Rachel did win that match. I can’t deny that. I wish I could, but I can’t. But as for the angel having her wings clipped, I don’t think so. You see you were promised a lot of different things about Sunday night, about how Barbie would burn or hang, but she didn’t. All the mind games and the egotistical bragging in the world can’t change that. The fact is that in the Thunderdome I got my ass kicked, but so did she. And she had to go to new depths, dig down further than she’s ever had to before, in order to find a way to win. She took a screwdriver and she drove it in to my head. She took the bolt cutters they brought out to the ring and threatened to cut off my fingers. She did all that of that, that’s true, I can’t deny that, but she also bled. On Sunday night I made Rachel Frost bleed, and while that may not be the most intimidating thing to say to a woman who seems to enjoy bathing in blood it wasn’t her own blood she promised the world she’d bathe in, was it? Not for the first time ‘Barbie’ took it to the woman who fancies herself the dominant, hardcore bitch and make no mistake about it a hundred thousand tweets about dominance are never going to change the fact that Rachel and Aiken Frost have spent the last six months trying to destroy me, trying to break me, trying to beat me down in to a pool of my own blood and guess what? I’m still standing!”

“So, is this the bit where I stand here and I ask her to go a third time? Is this the bit where I try and up the stakes even more? Maybe! I mean am I done with this? Am I cowering away? Am I looking for somewhere to hide so I never have to deal with those nasty, scary people ever again or the ‘Red Rain’ that is apparently going to rush over this company? No. I’m not backing down. I’m not running away. They can knock me down a thousand times and burn a billion dolls but it’s never going to make me cower because people like that, people who try and knock me down only make me more determined to get back on my feet, to stand tall in front of the world and tell each and every one of them to keep coming because I’ll NEVER back down from any one of them,” she says with pride. “But, while I may still be standing that’s not the spin you’re going to hear on this situation. You’re going to hear that they’ve proven their point now and that they’re moving on, just like before, am I right? There are plenty of other challenges, plenty more people who want their shots at both Aiken and Rachel, including a man who became something of a personal hero of mine on Sunday when he beat David Helms, Matt Auclair. Now that has a lot more to do with the fact that honestly I just kind of liked seeing David not get what he wanted for once than anything else, but I’m going to try super hard to be the bigger person here and let that slide for now. So there are plenty more challenges for the Coalition to endure now – Jake Starr, David Helms, Matt Auclair, Simon Lyman, god knows who else they’ve pissed off – and that puts me right out of sight, for now. But I’ll get another chance in the future, and when I do I’ll take it. Until then there are plenty more challenges out there for me as well.”

“For six months I’ve been attacked from behind, knocked out with chloroform and cut open with Plexiglas, for six months I’ve been fighting inside cages and scrapping in First Blood matches or brawling with whatever the hell Aiken thinks he is and for six months every time they’ve promised to end me I’ve come back stronger, and now that it’s finally over, now that there’s a different path to walk I’m going to walk it stronger than I’ve ever been,” she says with certainty. “You see these last six months; they’ve not really been me, have they? They’ve been about standing up against bullies, and now those bullies are promising ‘red rain’ and I’m promising white light. No, that wasn’t a reference to the angel thing, that was a reference to the one thing I’ve wanted my entire life, the same thing I dragged Rachel out the depths of her little demonic hell-world in to last Sunday, and that’s the spotlight. When this all started it was over one thing, one thing that I’m arguably further away from than I’ve been for a very long time but one thing that I’m GOING to get my hands on once again and that ladies and gentlemen is the SCW World Heavyweight Championship. Before Christmas I promised you all that 2014 would see me lay claim to that championship once again, and that’s a promise I intend to keep. So if Rachel wants to stand up in the middle of the ring and go one more time she knows where to find me, and if not I know what I want more than anything else. You see no matter how hard they hit me, no matter how sure they are they can take me out there’s one thing that never changes, one thing that you can be absolutely sure of and that’s that when I get back up, and I always do, I’m going to get right back in to that spotlight and I’m going to steal the show all over again!”

“So, where do I begin? Well you know what I’ve heard a lot of crying about lately? Rematches! Regan Street didn’t get her one on one rematch. Neither did I. For that matter, neither did Jake Starr. And actually, now that I think about it, neither did my opponent this week either, Thirteen. But unlike the three of us Regan Street is different, right? Because she’s special! She deserves preferential treatment. Well at Retribution, after all the hype and all the ego, Shaun Cruze joined a club I’m already a member of, and that’s the club of breaking Regan’s dreams. Congratulations Shaun. It’s been a long time coming for you, hasn’t it? It’s been your dream for a very long time to hold that title high above your head. It started back when I was still considered ‘just a former Women’s Champion’ and it’s taken you through so much, including you coming so very close to trying to take the World Heavyweight Championship off of me. Well congratulations on your victory, and enjoy it. Enjoy every moment of it. Because now the Uncrowned Champion has finally been crowned, I want to join the line of people waiting to take that crown off his head,” she says with a smile. “Unlike so many others though, while I’m more than happy to make my intentions very clear, I don’t intend on crying about it until someone gives me a shot. That’s why when I saw this match on Breakdown my heart skipped a beat because this match this week on Breakdown is an opportunity not to cry until someone gives me a pacifier but to step back in to that ring, as beat up as I am, and EARN my way back to the very top! And this match for me has so much added significance, because when it comes to Syren versus Thirteen, I’ve waited a very, very long time to finish what was started in 2012.”

“Just so you know Thirteen, I haven’t forgotten. You don’t forget something like that. I’m sure you’ll testify to that fact as well, because I’m sure you haven’t forgotten what happened to you at the hands of Jake Starr either. There was a period, for a very long time, when I couldn’t close my eyes at night without thinking about that night in December. I’ve heard so many different people talk about it as well, so many different people call me an idiot for even asking for it in the first place, let alone using my Trios Contract to guarantee it would happen. But I did. When I had an opportunity to go one on one with Shilo Valiant instead I was the one who chose to include Christian Saviour, I was the one who chose to include Thirteen, and ultimately I was the one who paid the price for that when Thirteen caught hold of me and wouldn’t let go,” she says, looking down as she talks and biting her bottom lip, as though the memory of it really still troubles her. “I remember his hands around my throat. I remember struggling for everything I had. I’ve never wanted to reach out toward that bottom rope more in my entire life than I did in that moment but I couldn’t. I was trapped. Thirteen locked me up, and in that same position how many people have found themselves tapping out? I didn’t. I couldn’t. I couldn’t tap, I couldn’t GIVE UP the one thing I wanted more than anything, I couldn’t sacrifice the SCW World Heavyweight Championship like that, so instead I held on for as long as I could, and I remember the world getting darker, and I shut my eyes and I hoped for a miracle, but when I opened my eyes again Thirteen was gone, my championship reign was over and I felt like my entire world had crashed down around me. Everything that I wanted, everything that DEFINED me at that time, in one night taken from me! It was one of the lowest points of my life, and I’ve never forgotten it.”

“Then, along came Breakdown. Never before has a match on an episode of Breakdown following a pay per view meant more to me. These particular shows I’m not even normally booked for, mostly because I’ve just had my ass kicked on pay per view and there are doubts over whether I can go again come Breakdown. And I’m hurting right now, I won’t deny that, but I promise you there is NO DOUBT about whether I can go come Breakdown,” she says in a strong, determined tone. “You see I know, in the bigger picture, that this match probably means nothing. There’s no championship on the line. There’s no contendership at stake. It’s just Thirteen and Syren one on one, but that’s the thing. It’s Thirteen and Syren one on one! The last time we met one on one things didn’t end the way that I wanted them to. A tainted ending, a flawed championship defence, I walked away with the championship belt but I didn’t get what I really wanted. I didn’t find out if I can beat you! And I know there are people out there who maybe think that I can’t. You’re always so quick to remind people that you beat me, after all. I even smiled a little last week when you dropped my name to William Mason, and then this match came along and I couldn’t help but feel that maybe it was fate. Maybe there is a higher power who wants this match to happen, finally. Maybe after failing to finish the job against Rachel Frost at Retribution someone somewhere has smiled at me, knowing that I’ll have that haunting me for a long time to come, and given me a chance to put to rest another thing that’s haunted me for entirely too long. That’s what I intend to do on Breakdown Thirteen. When you and I step in to the middle of that ring I plan to show you and show the world that everything really IS bigger in Texas, and beating you in the middle of that ring is the biggest thing that Texas has offered me in a while.”

“And now here’s the thing about this week, I don’t care about Skullkeeper. I know you’ve got your issues with him, but they’re your issues. I don’t care what’s going on with him but I don’t think William was even close when he claimed you’re a shell of the man you were. You may not be holding that championship anymore but things change every day don’t they? A few big wins and you could be right back in the hunt, right back on the verge of being named contender for the title all over again. But so could I! So whatever thoughts there are about your recent issues or mine, let’s put them all aside. This match this week isn’t about the Coalition, it isn’t about Skullkeeper, it’s about you and me and my opportunity to step in to the ring with you and prove to the world that I can beat you. We can make all the comparisons to the situations in 2012 we want but neither one of us is the same person anymore. This match on Breakdown is about getting myself back on track, this match on Breakdown is about my name back amongst those at the very top of this company, this match on Breakdown is about putting the past behind me once and for all but there is one thing that is the same from all that time ago,” she says before smiling a little at the camera. “I’m not the same girl I was, you’re not the same guy, but we both still have the same fire, the same passion and the same desire we’ve always had, don’t we? So this week don’t quote philosophy at me, don’t lecture me about past mistakes and don’t assume for even a second that what happened before will happen again. I can’t promise I will beat you this Wednesday night but I know deep down inside that I can, and I will promise that inside that ring I’m going to give you everything I have and I’m going to be ready for everything you’ve got. I didn’t tap before but still that night has haunted me for so very long. On Wednesday night I won’t tap again, but this time I intend to be the one who walks away, and this time it’s your turn to watch on and BE TOTALLY JEALOUS!”

She smiles at the camera before stepping up closer and planting a kiss on the lens. She steps back and waves as the video comes to an end and the replay button flicks up on the screen.
