The video begins and we see the ocean stretching off in to the distance. The view is quite incredible, and as the camera zooms in a little we hear a voice from behind, speaking with a strong Southern Californian accent and with a light heartedness to it, almost relaxed and, in spite of whom it belongs to, almost happy. “I always loved Baltimore,” Zoe says from behind the camera, zooming in even more to reveal the scenic ocean view is being filmed from the inside of a hotel room, presumably somewhere in Baltimore, Maryland. She lets out a little happy sigh. “Seriously, I have so many amazing memories in this city. It’s one of those places that I have a lot of history, but then after almost five years in this business there are an awful lot of places I have a lot of history. Still though, I do love this city. I’ve held championships in this city, I’ve won incredible matches in this city, I’ve stepped out to perform in front of tens of thousands of people in this city and tonight, in this city, I make a whole new memory because tonight I start a new chapter in my life. It’s a chapter that I’m truly excited about as well because, in a weird way, it’s a second chance for me and in life I’ve found out the hard way that second chances aren’t something you get a whole lot of, whether it’s inside or outside of the ring.”

She steps away from the window, walking to the middle of the room where she places the camera on a stand. For a few moments the camera continues to film nothing but the bed and the wall before we see Zoe walking out in front of it. She’s wearing a t-shirt with a heart logo on the front, an S cut out of it, and angelic wings on either side. Around the logo are the words ‘BEST FEMALE WRESTLER IN THE WORLD’. Other than the shirt she’s also wearing a pair of hip hugging jeans and black boots and has her hair down loose and a smile on her face. She stops for a second, smiling a little before looking apologetically at the camera. “Oh, sorry, how rude of me, technically this is being filmed for a new audience I guess, so I should probably introduce myself. My name’s Zoe, most people call me Syren, I’m a Scorpio, I’m twenty four years old,” she said before looking down at her shirt, “oh, and I’m pretty good at wrestling. And when I say ‘pretty good’, I mean I do kind of take it seriously. I bust my ass in that ring every single week and I have done now for almost five years. Now that might not be a long time in comparison to some people, but it’s been more than enough time for me to be one of the most hated girls in the world, to have arenas full of people throw things at me when I won matches and beat the people they wanted to see win, and to raise championship gold high above my head. Throughout all of those five years I’ve worked for one company. In that respect I’m very loyal. Just recently though things have all started to change for me: people don’t hate me so much anymore, in fact they’ve actually started to like me! It was weird at first, but I’ll admit there’s something about it that I do like. You see I’ve never wanted to be hated, I’m not one of those girls who enjoys being a bitch, I’m just the girl who did whatever she had to do to win.”

“That meant I made a lot of enemies, and upset a lot of people. It also meant that I made a lot of decisions I shouldn’t have made. You see the whole ‘win at all costs’ thing was never really me, I was never happy with a cheap win, I never wanted to weasel out of any situation, in truth the thing that made me happier than anything else was standing in the middle of that ring with the referee raising my hand above my head knowing that I’d gone out there and done everything I promised I’d do, knowing that I went out there and proved to the world that I wasn’t just good, I was the best,” she says with a smile. “And ever since I walked in to this business that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be the one in the spotlight, I’ve wanted to be the one the world talked about, I’ve wanted my name in big lights and arenas full of people who came to see me. Now I didn’t try and get that by doing it any cheap way at all. I’ve never weaselled out of a fight in my entire life, in fact I’m the girl who accepts the challenges that nobody else will accept. I was in the business for just a year, a naive rookie some might say, when I first had a former World Champion walk up to me and challenge me to put a title on the line. I should have been intimidated, I should have been afraid, but I wasn’t. I accepted the challenge, I agreed to defend my title, and in the end I lost the match. People have told me since that I shouldn’t have accepted, that I should have backed down, but I’ve never once regretted that decision for a second because while others saw a World Champion manipulating a naive girl I saw an opportunity to take on one of the best in the business and it was an opportunity I will never regret trying to seize.”

“That may have been the first time I took on an impossible challenge, but it definitely wasn’t the last. While other champions whine, bitch and complain about defending their championships in triple threat matches, insisting that everything has to be one on one so they can have their championship advantage, I’m the girl who jumps straight in to Fatal Fourway matches in a quest to prove that I can not only beat ONE contender but beat THREE in the same night! When I got an opportunity to name any match I wanted I knew exactly where I wanted the match to be, my home town, Los Angeles, California, in the Staples Center where my brother used to take me to watch the LA Kings play when I was younger, and I could have asked for any stipulation, any possible condition to make it easier for me. I chose a Steel Cage match because I wanted to do things the biggest possible way that I could,” she says, smiling at the memory. “And in almost five years in this business I’ve fought inside a lot of cages, I’ve brawled with hardcore veterans in no-DQ matches, I’ve stepped inside Elimination Chambers with monsters and without a friend in the world, I’ve been thrown in to metal, I’ve been spiked on my head, I’ve had the biggest, baddest, scariest guys I could imagine coming to literally drain my blood and yet I’ve never backed down, I’ve never run away, no matter how crazy the situation, no matter how stacked against me the deck has been there’s one thing you can GUARANTEE when it comes to me – I’m the girl who’ll be standing in the middle of the ring, no matter the situation, no matter the opponent, no matter how beaten up I’m feeling, ready not only to fight but to go one step further, to give everything I’ve got and leave that ring knowing that whether I won or whether I lost I gave everything I had.”

She smiles at the camera and laughs a little. “So, that’s who I am,” she says with a shrug. “Now you know that, you’re probably wondering why I’m here, and given everything you know already about me you probably think you have the answer to that one figured out. You know I’m friends with Maddie McTaggert, right? Sure, you all know that, you guys saw our little announcement at Chaos Theory and you’ve got it all figured out. I’m the replacement for Holly Adams. I’m probably just like her as well, right? And now everything that Holly and Maddie did, while calling themselves the ‘Meanest Girls’, you guys probably think I’m going to do as well. And sure, why wouldn’t you think that. Are there any ginger girls around here, better hope not because knowing the history of Holly and Maddie I’ll probably be attacking them and humiliating them, right? Wrong! I’m not Holly Adams and I’m not a replacement for anyone. Whatever you think you know about me because of how well you know Maddie, you’re wrong. I’m not here to be her sidekick, I’m not here to join in her games, I came to the biggest all female professional wrestling company for one reason and one reason only, for an opportunity to prove that just like the t-shirt says I am the BEST FEMALE WRESTLER IN THE WORLD, and that is NOT just a t-shirt slogan, that is not just something I throw up on merchandise or say in order to get the fans to invest in anything, that is a truth that I live every single day because it’s not just a proclamation, it’s something I’ve worked my entire career to prove. I came here because of Maddie, she’s my friend and I love her, but while she may have opened the door for me I promise that I’m going to be the one who kicks it open and walks through all on my own!”

She takes a deep breath, a definite intensity about her as she talks. “You see this company has offered me a second chance, an opportunity to write a new chapter in my life, an opportunity to establish a whole new legacy that’s entirely my own, and that is what I’m going to do. And whether it’s proving myself in tag team action all over again as Maddie McTaggert and Syren, the Blondetourage, or whether it’s stepping in the ring against the very best female talent in the world and showing them all that I didn’t come to play around, that I came to fight, then that’s what I’m going to do. And I didn’t come here to take shortcuts; I don’t intend to take the easy way out of anything. I’m not here to hold out my hand and demand that this company put money in it or anything else. Hell, I don’t care about money and never have. I’m also not going to stand here and demand championship opportunities at any championship belt because that’s not my style, I don’t whine about how I deserve to be handed the gold, I step in to that ring each and every week and I earn it,” she says before smiling. “And here’s the thing, I’m starting from the very bottom, I’m starting with no reputation, no legacy, no easy way in to guaranteed success, but by the time I’m done I promise each and every girl in this company will know my name, every single fan who walks through those doors will leave talking about my matches, and sooner or later I know in my heart that that will lead to everything I want. I didn’t join up to be a part of the shows; I joined up to STEAL the shows! And whether that’s on Breaking Point, on Velocity, on pay per view or on a special event there’s only one place I want to be and that’s in the middle of the ring, taking on EVERYONE who wants to step up.”

“And I’ve got Goosebumps right now thinking about tonight,” she says, running her hand down her arm and smiling at the camera. “I’ve got Goosebumps all over my body because tonight is the night it begins, tonight is the night I get a second chance to make a first impression on a whole new group of people, and it’s a chance I’m planning on ceasing. It begins tonight when I step in to that ring and go one on one with Mercedes Vargas. Now I won’t sit here and pretend that I know everything there is to know about this girl, I’m new, I’m still learning the names and learning the faces, but I do know what I’ve seen of her so far and from what I’ve seen so far I know that a bitch. But then who am I to judge, my best friend is kind of a bitch too. And when I say ‘kind of a bitch’, I mean if Kate Steele thinks she’s upset for the way Maddie’s betrayed her then I can tell her so many stories because Kate isn’t the only one who’s turned her back to find Maddie shoving a knife in it. For as much as she is a backstabbing bitch though, she’s my backstabbing bitch. That may not make much sense, but then neither does my friendship with Maddie. And I know all the things Maddie has done, I know all the tactics she’s used, and I wouldn’t blame Mercedes Vargas for going in to this match this week expecting those tactics, worried that she has to look over her shoulder, paranoid that Maddie could be coming to ‘get her’, but I promise you that’s not going to happen. This week, Mercedes and me, it’s one on one and I intend to keep it that way. You see I don’t want anything ruining this moment, I don’t want anything taking away from this opportunity, because tonight Mercedes you and me might be starting off this show but even by the time the show is over our match will be the one they’re still talking about!”

“Now I don’t know much about you Mercedes, and I’m not going to stand here and pretend I’ve got you all figured out because I don’t, but I also know that as much as I’d love to think that the entire world knows everything there is to know about me that the reality is that you don’t know much about me either. Here’s what I do know about you though sweetie, and that’s that physically speaking you and I are about as evenly matched as they come. Ok, so you’re a little taller than me, but I’m used to that. You’re also experienced, about the same experience level as me as well, maybe slightly more. You’re a lot older than me though, and they say with age comes wisdom, so maybe you’ve got that going for you. With youth though comes exuberance, with youth comes the willing to take risks, to prove yourself beyond that which the world thinks you’re worth, and when it comes to taking risks sweetie I’m somewhat experienced in that area. But the thing I know about you that excites me the most, the thing about you that absolutely makes this the PERFECT debut match for me, is that you think you’re the best in the world,” she says, grinning as she pauses for a moment. “And see, I couldn’t have asked for a better debut opponent than the woman who proclaims herself that. It turns out we have that in common I guess, except for one small, minor difference – when I step in to that ring I won’t be SAYING I’m the best, I’ll be PROVING it! And when I step in to that ring on Breaking Point maybe the fans will respond to me, maybe they won’t, but by the time I leave that ring no matter what else happens on Breaking Point I promise that mine is a name you’re never going to forget.”

“And like I said sweetie I don’t pretend to know everything about you but I have seen your accomplishments. Five years in this business and you’ve accomplished more than I have, I know that. You’ve held championship gold in so many companies, you’ve accomplished so many things to be proud of, you’ve proven to the world that you can be damn near unbeatable at times while me? I’m beatable. I know that. I’ve found that out the hard way. And everything you’ve accomplished Mercedes, every record you’ve broken, every award you’ve won, will still be there tomorrow morning when you wake up, but one thing that won’t still be there is the possibility of you being the best in the world, because you may be the best in other companies, but I’m on a quest to prove that I’m the best in FFW,” she says proudly and certainly. “Tonight is the night it begins. Tonight is the night we make the magic happen! Tonight is the night you find out why Maddie has been tweeting to the world about my debut, and it’s not just because she’s my friend but because she knows firsthand how good I am. Tonight is the night I make my first impression on this company, and tonight is the night I take my first step toward carving out my legacy in FFW. And while this is my second chance at a fresh start, I know I won’t get a second chance at this. Tonight for me it’s make or break. Tonight for me it’s sink or swim. Tonight is the night I’ve been looking forward to since the moment it was announced, and Mercedes, no matter what happens, I’m glad it’s you. I’m not going to stand here and promise to beat you without breaking a sweat, hell where’s the fun in doing that? I want you to test me. I want you to show the world why you’re the self-proclaimed best in the world, so I can stand in that ring and prove to the world why I’m better. And, for the very first time in FFW history, let me state this for the record – if you can’t handle any of that sweetie you’ve got two choices, prove me wrong or JUST BE JEALOUS!”

She steps toward the camera, planting a kiss on the lens before smiling once more as the video ends and the replay button flashes up on the screen.
