The video begins and we see an apartment building in Las Vegas. The camera moves up and down the building for a moment before seeming to focus on one particular apartment. From the ground-up view we have we can’t make out any detail of that particular apartment but its significance is soon explained as we hear the voice of Syren from behind the camera. “You know my career in SCW began when I lived in that apartment right there,” she explains before laughing a little to herself and panning the camera back down the building again. “As you guys can probably see, this building isn’t quite what I’m used to today. The apartments are small. The building is pretty rundown. Everything about this place is a little underdeveloped. But that was ok back then because my career was small, and everything about it was amazingly underdeveloped. But SCW was willing to take a chance on me regardless, the little girl from California who was hiding out in Las Vegas so that her father didn’t find out that she was wrestling. When I think back to that now I can’t help but think that it was like another lifetime. Everything about it seems so long ago. It was before my first professional match. Before my first title. Before my first pay per view. Before my first adventure inside or outside of the ring. It was this crazy time long, long ago when there was a young, excited girl named Zoe Sperling and there wasn’t yet a wrestler named Syren.”

She laughs again and lets out a happy little sigh. “Man that was a long time ago, right? Because today I’m back in Las Vegas preparing for an event here, an event they’re calling Violence in Vegas, and it’ll be my seventh consecutive January pay per view event as a part of SCW, so you’ll need to forgive me if I find it a little funny that I can still remember a time before that,” she says, giggling a little more before turning the camera around on herself. “And I know that there are some around here who’ve been here even longer, who can probably boast even more consecutive events, but there are plenty around here who can’t as well. Those of us who can, we’re in a pretty exclusive club by now. And that club doesn’t come with a whole lot of benefits, but it does give you this nifty little target you get on your back. You don’t actually get to choose to put it there, and it doesn’t matter how much it clashes with your outfit it’ll stay there regardless as a whole bunch of people from the past and the present focus on it. They see that target and they know what it represents. It represents an opportunity for them. They focus in on it and they get determined to do everything they can to eradicate it. To them it doesn’t matter where you came from. To them it doesn’t matter what you’ve done. To them all they see is a target to get rid of. They know that if they focus in on that target and completely destroy it then it’ll lead to good things in their futures.”

“They know that like it’s a certainty. I mean what could be better than being able to strut around saying you’re the person who took out a former World Heavyweight Champion? What can make more of a statement in a business where making statements is the only way to get ahead that focusing in on and obliterating the target right in front of you?” she asks before laughing again. “Do you want to know how I know about all of this? It’s not because I’ve had people focusing in on me before. Oh sure, I’ve had that too, but the reason I know about that is because I used to be in the same position because I started right up there in that apartment. I started at the very, very bottom. I started with nowhere to go but up. And that’s where I went. I focused in on those who came before me. I thought I could make examples of them. I thought beating them would open up doors for me. I thought it would make statements that nobody could ignore. I thought I could put my name at the top of the list of those who everyone was talking about. I wasn’t entirely wrong, either. But when you’re doing that, when you’re relentlessly going after those with a target on their back, you don’t ever stop to think about the funny thing, that one day if you get everything you’re after then you’ll be the one with the target on their back and there will be someone else, just as hungry as you used to be, coming after you. It can be a pretty weird experience when it happens the first time as well.”

“Unfortunately – or fortunately, depending on which way you look at it – this isn’t the first time someone has come after me looking to make a statement. This isn’t the first time that someone has seen a target on my back and brought everything they have to take me out. It’s not the first time and it definitely won’t be the last time either, because I’ve been with dealing with this kind of thing for a while now and the stories normally go the same way. There’s a young, talented individual who has everything they need to make it to the top level, except for any form of patience. Now this individual has a few choices. They could come out to the ring or get on the microphone in the back, they could make a challenge, they could do the honourable thing and they could wait for that challenge to be taken notice of. Or they could cheap shot me. Or they could run their mouth about me. Guess how many people chose option one from that list?” she asks before laughing and shaking her head slowly. “Yah, I can count them on one finger. The rest of those who’ve tried to come after me have done so with sneak attacks, they’ve tried costing me matches, they’ve tried knocking me down, attacking me with weapons, or some of them have just grabbed a microphone and talked and talked and talked. They always think they’re doing something special, something never seen before, but every time they talk I find myself getting bored…”

“Now that’s no offence to Alexis Quinne. The fact is that Alexis Quinne is anything but boring. She’s an incredibly talented individual. She’s got a fire and a passion about her that has driven her up the side of the mountain. She’s gone from a little girl who nobody took seriously to SCW Women’s Champion to a genuine contender and threat to any title and she’s done that by bettering herself, by improving in the ring week after week, and by taking on some of the biggest and best and not backing away from a challenge. It’s not only me who thinks that either, obviously. I mean a few weeks ago she was one of the top vote getters in the battle to find out who the SCW fans wanted to see challenge for the World Championship, and that meant that she was given a hell of an opportunity to fight for the number one contendership,” she says before nodding her head a little proudly. “She put on a good fight as well. It wasn’t her night a few weeks ago on Breakdown, but she put on a hell of a fight nonetheless. I can give her a lot of respect for that. I can give her a lot of respect for everything she tried to accomplish, and how close she came. And she’s got that in her locker, you know? She’s had that in her locker for a while now. She’s got the talent and the ability to compete with almost anyone, having come a long way from being the girl that Regan Street once beat down in the ring in order to send a message to me about how dominating she could be.”

“Now I don’t think Alexis is ever going to find herself in that kind of position again. I don’t think she’s ever going to find herself as the victim in a one-sided beat down, as least not in a regularly scheduled match, because as much as Alexis has the talent and the ability to go all the way to wherever it is she wants to be Alexis also has a little problem, and that’s that she’s really, really good at running her mouth. Some people think it’s her best talent,” she says before laughing again. “One thing I have seen is that it tends to get her in trouble, but even when it does she’s back the next week running her mouth again, talking down to everyone around her, talking herself up as best she can, and acting like there’s nobody in this world who can touch her. That makes her look pretty damn invincible when she wins, but it also makes her look incredibly stupid when she fails, and after all the running of her mouth she’s done about me over the last few months this Sunday night at Violence in Vegas I’m intending to do one thing and that’s make her look damn stupid. You see she’s been talking about me every chance she can get, twisting reality in whatever way she can to make herself seem superior, and saying and doing everything she can in the hopes that she can get some kind of advantage before this match this week. See, the thing is that she’s not the first person to run her mouth about me, and she’s not going to be the last.”

“If she was hoping for a rise from me on social media then she doesn’t know me very well. I’m not one of those girls who feels compelled to get in to social media wars every time someone mentions their name. If I was the kind who did that, if I was the kind who ran my mouth whenever anyone said anything negative about me, I’d be on Twitter most of the day having the same conversations over and over. That’s because almost everything that people say about me is the same shit over and over. Unfortunately for Alexis she’s yet to add anything new to that ever-growing pile either. But she keeps trying, which I guess is something to be rewarded, right?” she asks before shrugging her shoulders. “I don’t know. But I do know that I don’t need to do my talking with my fingers. I don’t need to do my talking behind a keyboard. If you’ve got a problem with me then that’s fine, you run your mouth however you want, and I’ll respond in the best way I know how. I’ll walk out to that ring and I’ll do all my talking dead smack in the middle of it. Because if you’ve got a problem with me then that’s just fine, you’re not the first one, but if you want to do something other than exhaustively tap away at those little keys or tap away at the glass on your touch screen phone then all you’ve got to do is step into the ring and we’ll see how much you feel like talking when the bell rings.”

“Now if that sounds like a threat then it’s not meant to be one. I don’t really see the point in threatening people. It doesn’t do anything for me. It doesn’t do anything for them. But rather than talking the talk endlessly all I want to see from you Alexis is how well you can back up those words. You’ve got your chance after all, right? You’ve got your chance to eradicate Syren. You’ve got your chance to step up to the next level. You’ve got your chance to put your name at the top of most every list going when it comes to challenging for championships. So if that’s what you want then it’s what you’ve got this Sunday, it’s within reach even, and all you’ve got to do to grab it is beat me. You can do that though, right? Sure you can. You’ve been talking about it after all. Or are you putting all your hopes on the fact that you were right a few weeks ago and that I’m a big ol’ liar?” she asks curiously. “Are you putting all your hopes on the fact that you’re right about this idea that I don’t really want to earn anything, that I’d rather run away from challenges from the ‘new stars’ that are coming around? Because if you haven’t picked up on it yet Alexis, if you haven’t figured it out after the End of Year Special when I took on Dante McCaffery and the match ended with me dropping him on his face to end 2015 on a high, I don’t run from anyone. Actually, that’s kind of my thing. It’s kind of what I’ve built my reputation on.”

“I put the SCW World Championship on my shoulder and I promised the world that I wouldn’t ever run from a fight, and I didn’t. I took on everyone, whether I thought they should be top contender or not. I fought tournament winners. I fought randomly drawn opponents. I fought former World Heavyweight Champions and guys who’ve never held a singles a belt before. The fact was I became the longest reigning SCW World Heavyweight Champion by defending that belt on pay per view, at Fatal Fortunes or just randomly on Breakdown. I had guys like William Mason step up and I didn’t tell him he didn’t belong, I would have held down the ropes for him if he needed any further encouragement! I’ll do the same for you this Sunday Alexis. You see I meant what I said. I’m working my way back up to that title again. I’m fighting anyone and everyone along the way. In 2016 I’m going to grab hold of that title, raise it over my head once again, and proudly stand in front of the world as a four-time SCW World Heavyweight Champion and when I get there I’m going to leave no doubt over the fact that I DESERVE to be there,” she says with fire in her voice, “and if you’ve got any doubts about that Alexis, if you’ve got any doubts of my credibility, if you’ve got any doubts that I can’t back up everything I say, then step up this Sunday, get in the ring and wait for the bell. I promise you won’t still have doubts when the bell rings again.”

“Now I’m not going to say something stupid right now. I’m not going to promise the world that I’m definitely going to beat you. That would be pretty moronic given who you are and what you can do, right? And I’m not talking about the fact that you’re ‘Punk Hazard’, I’m not talking about the fact that you’ve got the guys watching your back. I’m prepared for that, but that’s not what I’m talking about. What I’m talking about is the fact that you’re the Big Deal. You’re Pint-Sized-Awesomeness. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again right now, you can go with the best in this company and make them remember long after the match is over that they were in a match with you, whether it’s win, lose or draw. So I’m not going to run my mouth, let my ego get away from me, and guarantee success, guarantee victory, or promise to beat you within a time limit, or any of that stupid crap. What I am going to promise to the entire world is that this Sunday night you’re going to be the one who knows she was in a fight,” she says before smirking at the camera. “This Sunday I’ve got something to prove. This Sunday I’m going to go up against an up and coming star, a star on the rise, in order to prove that my star is not on the decline. This Sunday I know Alexis will look to prove that big things come in small packages, but this Sunday while there will undoubtedly be a whole lot of ‘Pint-Sized-Awesomeness’ on display if I get what I want, if I walk from that ring with the victory, there will also be a pint-sized girl with a full-sized chance to BE TOTALLY JEALOUS!”

“And yah, I’m keeping a close eye on the main event, I’m keeping a close eye on what happens at Supreme Saturday, but I’m not looking past you Alexis,” she says before winking at the camera. “See you Sunday, sweetie.”

And with that kisses the lens of the camera as the video cuts to black and ends and we see the replay button flash up on the screen.
