The video begins and we see a close up shot of the SCW World Heavyweight Championship filling the screen. The title belt sits proudly, resting on the strap which is folded behind it, and slightly at an angle in front of the camera. The camera continues to focus on the title as it slowly begins to pull out. We hear an instantly recognisable voice from behind the camera, that of Zoe Sperling, better known by her stage name Syren, the current holder of the prestigious championship that fills the screen. “Hey everyone,” she says in a happy but serious tone. “So, there’s been a lot going on recently, huh? There’s been a lot of drama happening over the past few weeks. There’s a war brewing, just under the surface in SCW right now. I think we’ve all noticed it. No matter how focused we all are on our own individual goals I think it’s impossible to ignore the fact that right now there is a war brewing and it’s one that threatens to consume all of us. There are three parties involved in this war. There’s Aiken Frost and his allies, be they New Eden, Foxx Global, the Sinistry, the Coalition, whatever you want to call them. They make up one side. I know both of them pretty well. I’ve had more battles with Rachel Foxx over the years than I care to think about. I’ve also had my problems with all of the old Coalition. Then there’s another side, another group I’ve had problems with but that’s fractured lately – Silas World. Kelcey Wallace isn’t a part of it anymore. I’m happy about that. I’m pleased she’s finally broken away from their bullshit. But in her place there’s always someone new, right? Two groups fighting for control, and caught in the middle is everyone else.”

She lets out a long sigh. “It doesn’t seem to matter what your personal beliefs are or what you stand for, this war is one that threatens to consume everyone. It’s already consuming people I care about, and people I used to care about. It’s creating unique teams of people who have nothing in common except the fact that they’re standing up for the right thing, and it’s letting us see different sides to people we thought we knew all along. Take Matt Auclair, for example. And while I may have no direct involvement in any of this right now I am feeling the effects of it. These are two groups of people who’ve helped make 2014 one of the hardest years of my life. These are two groups of people who’ve hurt me in so many ways. These are two groups of people who’ve sent me to the hospital so many times I’ve lost count. But the reason I’m starting this video talking about them isn’t to tell you that I’m personally standing up against them but to remind you that I have stood against them before, and it’s thanks to them that I’ve discovered so much about myself,” she explains before laughing a little. “I know it sounds crazy, actually sounding it out loud makes it sound even crazier, but as much as these two groups have made my existence miserable this year they’ve also helped me. They’ve helped me understand things about myself. They’ve helped me discover strength I didn’t know I had to persevere through it all. But more than anything else both these groups, and everyone else who’s tried to hurt me or take from me in 2014, has helped me discover something invaluable. They’ve helped me discover what’s truly important to me.”

She continues zooming out the camera. “What you see in front of you right now is one thing that’s truly important to me. Another is this company. 2014 has been by a long way the hardest year of my life because of all the hardships I’ve been through, all the attacks I’ve endured and all the struggles I’ve had to come through personally and professionally, but 2014 will ALWAYS be the year that I accomplished what even I thought at times was impossible. It’s the year I regained the SCW World Heavyweight Championship, the year I won the main event at Rise to Greatness, the year I’ve overcome every obstacle and every challenge that was laid in front of me, the year I discovered a renewed love for Supreme Championship Wrestling, the year I’ve been PROUD to stand up for this company and represent the BEST parts of it, not the worst parts, but it’s also the year that I’ve discovered the importance of something else,” she says. She turns the camera and we see Alexander Cannon – or Alexander Crowe, if you go by his ring name, lying on the bed in the hotel room. He looks up at the camera and smirks. “Hey baby, just using you as an example here, don’t mind right? I’m using you as an example of family. Because THAT is the other thing that’s so important to me, and the other thing that I’ve discovered through all the hardships I’ve been through. I’ve discovered the strength and determination which comes from being part of a family, the power that you can get from embracing those around you, and I’m not just talking about Alexander either. I’m talking about all the fans in all the arenas around the world.”

“This year all you people have embraced me in ways you never have before. You’ve given me strength. You’ve given me hope. You’ve helped lift me up when I’ve been down, and for that ladies and gentlemen I thank you,” she says before turning the camera on herself and curtsying. She smiles at the camera again happily. “Now I know you hear this kind of stuff a lot, but I want you to know I mean it. I meant every word I said just now and I meant every word I said at Apocalypse. I faced a challenge at Apocalypse that I was more determined to overcome than I’d ever been before, and it was thanks to you guys, thanks to the strength you helped me find, that I was able to do that. It was also, as I found out later, a little thanks to someone else as well, someone I don’t consider part of my family, someone I respect but that I consider a rival in just about every part of my life. That someone is my opponent in two and a half weeks. That someone is the woman who took the world by storm, the woman who took the Women’s division by storm, the woman who rose to the top of SCW faster than any other woman before her, the woman who took my place in Pinnacle, who took my place amongst the elite in SCW for a while, and who took my boyfriend, took parts of my life, hurt me in ways nobody else ever has. In two and a half weeks I meet her in the middle of that ring. In two and a half weeks we write another chapter in our rivalry. In two and a half weeks we go to war for the SCW World Heavyweight Championship, and that’s a fight neither one of us will be able to deal with losing.”

“So I guess it’s thanks to her, at least in some small part, that I’m standing here with you now still the SCW World Heavyweight Champion, and I’m sorry about that. I am. I’m not going to hide from it. I’m not going to pretend it didn’t happen. I don’t think that it’s entirely down to her, but I think each week that passes right now it seems Regan Street and me are getting more and more acquainted with each other all over again. But the reason I’m here isn’t because of her. The reason I’m here is because of you guys. And this week on Breakdown I intend to pay you guys back for everything you’ve done for me by putting on the performance of a lifetime, by stepping up to another HUGE fight, a fight that could main event any pay per view but that’s coming to you absolutely free this Wednesday night on Breakdown,” she says, smiling happily. “And this Wednesday night there will be wars, there will be battles, there will be more drama unfolding as the roster tries to resist evil forces, but there will also be a match between James Marsh-Asher, former SCW Adrenaline Champion, former SCW World Heavyweight Champion, and Syren, former Women’s Champion, former World Tag Team Champion, and current reigning SCW World Heavyweight Champion. Do I need to say more about this match than that? You guys all know the story. James Marsh-Asher – Thirteen, which by the way I totally preferred as a name, which is weird because I didn’t used to like it then it totally grew on me and he changed it and I was like ‘oh, that sucks, it was so much cooler when he called himself that’ but whatever – was the man who beat me the very first time I was at the top of this company.”

“He was the one who beat me to unify the interim and World Championships. He was the one who completed an incredible rise to the top of the company by taking that title from me and leaving me unconscious in the middle of the ring. That was almost two years ago, and you know what? I’ve never forgotten it. And I will never forget it either. What James did on that night defined my career. What James accomplished on that night though was to prove to the world that he was amongst the best who have EVER laced up their boots. I’m not saying that because he beat me. I’m not saying that because I think I’m so important that beating me proved how incredible he is. I’m saying that James did what others have whined endlessly about needing to do. He climbed in to the ring in a Fatal Fourway match, he took on Syren, Shilo Valiant and Christian Savior – two more former World Champions, two more of the greatest to have ever laced up their boots, and one who’s main evented the show of shows three years running – and he left that ring the undisputed, unquestioned SCW World Champion,” she says with a nod. She then picks up the SCW World Championship and places it across her shoulder proudly. “James, you are one of the best who’ve ever competed in this company. You’re on a short list of those who can say they’ve held this title. You’re on an even shorter list of those who can say they truly EARNED their way to the top. And this year I’m so proud to be able to say that I did the same thing. You see I’ve always been jealous of that night. I’ll never be able to forget it, no matter what else happens.”

“I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember being so determined. I remember having so much to prove against you. You see I know how many people back then hated me. The truth is if I could go back I’d probably hate me too. But no matter what you say about me even back then I wanted to prove something. I could have taken the easy way out after our match at Under Attack. I could have said that I retained the title and that was all that mattered. How many others have done exactly that? But I didn’t. I wanted to prove something. I wanted to beat you. As it turns out that was the single stupidest decision I made in all of 2012, which was a big year for me when it came to really stupid decisions, I mean that WAS the year I started sleeping with David Helms, which I’m sure we can all agree now was a giant mistake,” she says, rolling her eyes and laughing a little. “Moving on... I look back on that night though and yah, it was a stupid decision. Yah, I could have done so many different things. Yah, maybe I should have done things very differently, but I didn’t. I made my choice and you know what James? I’m still proud of that choice. It was stupid. It was a mistake. But I did it for the right reasons. I did it to prove myself, just like this year I made the same choice again with a very different outcome. And if I could go back, if I could do it all again, you want to know something funny? I’d do it again. I mean I’d LOVE a second chance to do that match again, to try this time to beat you, but I’m never going to get that. On that night, on December 9th 2012 in the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh you beat me.”

“This week we’re not in Pittsburgh, which sucks because that would have been an amazing segue, right? This week we’re in the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, and for only the second time since that night it’s Syren against James Marsh-Asher again. The last time we fought was earlier this year and on that night I’m so very proud to say that I was the one who left the ring with the victory. I was proud of that match. I was proud of fighting you. I was prouder still at beating you. And I thought that doing that would even the score, I thought that doing that would settle it, I thought that if I could beat you on that night I’d forget what happened, but I never will. Beating you on that night was a huge step for me in getting over it, but you’ll always be able to say you beat me when it mattered,” she says, nodding her head and then looking at the title on her shoulder and smirking back at the camera. “But this week, maybe just maybe it matters again. See James the reason I brought up the WAR going on right now wasn’t JUST because it involves a friend of mine, it wasn’t JUST because it helped illustrate the point I was making but it’s also because you are one of those involved. You’ve been on the front lines. You’ve been doing the right thing. You’ve been standing to New Eden. And for that, on top of EVERYTHING else, you have my respect James. You really do. You have my undying respect, as does anyone who decides to stand up for the locker room the way you have. And that’s where you’ve been. You’ve been engaged in a war. But this week you’ve got a chance to get back to where you want to be.”

“I don’t know you personally. I don’t know for a fact that you want to be back there, like I know Tommy does, for example. But I do know how it feels to lose it, and I know that that hunger never goes away. When we met before we were both on a road somewhere else. Beating you in that match helped drive me toward this championship, and while beating you ultimately had no direct relation to me getting the shot that saw me win this title it certainly gave me the confidence I needed to cash in my Trios Contract in the first place,” she says, nodding and looking at the title again briefly. “Now I have this, and if you want it then you know how to get it, right? Because this week on breakdown it’s not JUST a battle of two who’ve been to the top, it’s not JUST a pay per view main event match on free television, it’s also your opportunity to earn a shot at this title again. You beat the champion and everyone knows that puts you in line. Maybe it doesn’t mean you automatically get a shot, but it does mean your name is considered amongst the top competitors. And we know its Regan next; the main event at Under Attack is signed, but what about November? What about the show that two years ago was Gang Rulz? Maybe history will repeat itself. Maybe James Marsh-Asher will beat Syren, earn his shot, and on pay per view in November beat whoever’s holding this title and once again become the SCW World Heavyweight Champion. Maybe fate is at work here. Maybe you’ve been given this opportunity for a reason. Maybe this week you begin your rise back to the very top...”

She pauses and then smiles again. “It could happen. Your name could be on the lips of everyone. Syren versus James Marsh-Asher or Regan Street versus James Marsh-Asher, both are possible. But maybe something else is at work here. Maybe this week won’t be about you proving yourself. Maybe this week will be about Syren continuing the incredible run she’s been on,” she says, smiling confidently again. “You know if you told me this time last year, when I was struggling for form, when I was coming off that huge loss to Shilo, when I was doubting myself, right before I went through hell with the Coalition, that by the time I got one year in the future I’d have been pinned only one time, that I’d have taken on a whole host of the TOP STARS in SCW and won, that I’d have beaten former World Champions, that I’d have won back this title and that I’d have defended it with tens of thousands of SCW fans cheering me I’d have bitten your hand off for that. Hell I’d have bitten your hand off for half of that. I was lost back then. I was hurting. I doubted myself. I know how it feels to need that chance to make it all right. This week you have that chance, but this week I have my chance to prove myself again. Because for me being the World Heavyweight Champion isn’t the goal! I’m not here to raise this title and say ‘I’m the champ, nothing else matters’. I’ve done that. It’s so 2013. No, I’m not here for that, I’m here to prove myself every week, to fight the biggest matches, to take on the biggest challenges and James I’ve spoken about it so much already but you’re the big challenge and this week I want to beat you.”

“There’s a war going on around us. All hell is breaking loose every way we look. Friends are getting hurt. Family are suffering. But this week, you and me, we RISE ABOVE that. This week, you and me, we put on a show. This week, you and me, we STEAL the show and we remind every single fan in that crowd that this company isn’t built on blood-seeking assholes. It isn’t built on Stetson-wearing propaganda-merchants. It isn’t built on green mist, or yellow mist, or blue mist, or any other kind of mist. It isn’t built on liars, frauds, cheats and thieves. This company, Supreme Championship Wrestling, is built on exactly what it says on the banner. It’s built on WRESTLING. It’s built on the greatest talent in the world going up against each other and this week I say that’s what we give them James. This week, you and me, we go to war one more time, we put EVERYTHING on the line, and we show those fans what we’re both about. You could become a top contender, I could prove to the world why I am the SCW World Champion, we’ve both got EVERYTHING to gain from this match, and quite frankly James I think we all need this,” she says with a nod. “I think we both need a break from the wars. I think we both need a break from the struggle. I think you and me and every fan in that building needs to remind ourselves why we love this sport, why we do what we do, and why we’re proud to be the BEST at it. That’s what this week is about. It’s about our passion. It’s about the things we care about most. It’s about showing the world who we are. I know who I am thanks to everything I’ve been through. I know what I care about more than I ever have before. This week James I say we STAND TALL in that ring and everyone who looking on can just watch two of the best in the world, and they can JUST BE JEALOUS!”

She kisses the camera happily before twirling on the spot. She turns the camera to Alexander again who looks at her with amusement. “What? It’s a huge match, I’m excited, bite me,” she says with a laugh. “Say bye baby.”

“Bye baby,” he says, winking at her. The video ends there and the replay button flashes up on the screen.
