The video begins and we see a close up sideways shot of the SCW World Heavyweight Championship. The camera stays in tight to the title before we hear a familiar laugh, that of the SCW World Champion, Syren. “Hey everyone, it’s pay per view time once again and today I thought I’d start this video with the thing that you all really want to see, the one thing that so many around here can’t stop thinking about, the SCW World Championship. This is it right here. This is your focus. This is your goal. This is the one thing above all others that you want in this world. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got another title, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never had a shot before or if you’ve had twenty of them, it doesn’t matter who’s holding it, what they’ve done or who their contenders are. This right here is what matters above everything else,” she says. Her tone isn’t encouraging, in fact if anything her tone is angry and discouraging. “You see right now in SCW there are two groups of individuals who are waging a war against this company. On one side you’ve got Silas Mason leading his ‘Silas World’, an ever-expanding group of individuals so many of whom seem to be recruited with big promises and so many of whom are hyped as the next person to hold this title. On the other side you’ve got New Eden, or the Coalition, or Foxx Global, or whatever you want to call them. Now they’re not recruiting anyone, in fact they're purposefully keeping their numbers small but they’re taking more than enough out on the other side until their numbers will be small as well.”
“And what about in between?” she asks. The camera remains focused on the SCW World title. “In between you’ve got a roster of more than fifty people. In between you’ve got a collection of some of the very best competitors on the planet. In between you’ve got a unique collection of rookies and veterans, you’ve got an unbelievably talented group of people both popular with the fans and hated by them but each possessing the talent and drive they need to make themselves the biggest stars in this industry today. And let me say that first part again because it’s important, ok? You’ve got more than FIFTY people on this roster who haven’t sold out to Silas Mason with the promise of success under his leadership or who haven’t jumped on to the side of the monsters with the hope of bringing the whole company to its knees and rebuilding it in blood, or whatever it is these animals want to do with it! In between you’ve got more than FIFTY people who work here, who take money from this company to go out to that ring and be the best that they can be, and yet you’ve got just a tiny proportion of those people who’ve actually stopped from their own problems and looked and realised what’s happening all around them. Why should they stop though, right? Why should they join a fight that isn’t theirs? What do they have to gain from it, right? Is it going to get them a World title shot? Is standing up to Aiken Frost going to get them a World title shot? Is stopping the bloodshed and the attacks on EVERYONE on the roster going to get them a World title shot? Is protecting the people they work with going to help further their careers?”
The camera pans out now to show Syren standing in front of it with the SCW World title in her hand, holding it up to her side and just staring at it. She starts shaking her head slowly. “No, it’s not. Standing up to be counted against individuals who’ve put people on the injured list, who’ve delayed shows, who’ve hijacked feeds, who’ve reined terror on everyone they’ve come across isn’t going to get you a shot at this. And that’s what really matters as well, isn’t it? You see it doesn’t matter how many people get injured all around you. It doesn’t matter whose homes are set on fire. It doesn’t matter how long shows can’t go on because the ring is literally coated in blood. That stuff doesn’t matter just as long as YOU get a shot at this title right here, just as long as you get to represent a company that gets driven out of business because one by one everyone in the locker room is sent home unable to compete. And why should you care about that, just as long as it isn’t happening to you, right? Sure, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t even matter who’s calling your matches, right? No, why should the health and wellbeing of someone like Adam Sharper make any difference to you, just as long as you can go on Twitter and tell the world how you should be the number one contender,” she says angrily, clenching her fist in her free hand and cracking her neck from side to side. “What happened to him, what’s happened to everyone around here, doesn’t matter, right? All that matters is that you get what you think you deserve.”
She looks away from the camera with everything about her body language looking like she’s set to snap. Finally she looks back in to the camera again. “You know over the past few weeks I’ve had a lot of people asking questions and throwing accusations my way. I’ve had people asking why I took up this fight, I’ve had people assuming that it’s because I’m afraid to face different challengers or it’s because one of them kicked me in the head a few weeks ago when I was defending my title. First of all I want to address the part of that that probably doesn’t need to be addressed, but I wouldn’t want to be accused of hiding. I’m not afraid to defend THIS title against ANYONE,” she says proudly, holding the title belt up again. “In three months since Rise to Greatness, where I won this title in a fatal fourway match against three of the TOP competitors in this industry and three of the hottest stars in SCW in 2014 I’ve gone on to defend this title FOUR separate times. William Mason, Shaun Cruze, Regan Street and James Marsh-Asher have stepped up and I’ve not ducked out on any one of them. I’ve represented this title and this company and I’ve done it with pride and it’s representing this company, LOVING this company — the company that gave me my break in professional wrestling, the company that gave a contract to a little blonde girl from California and gave her a chance to step on to the biggest stage in the world and prove that she had what it took to belong there — is the reason that when someone needed to step up and fight I was the FIRST one through that curtain to do exactly that.”
“While a locker room of would-be champions jump on their cell phones and complain after EVERY show that it’s not them who’s next in line I wasn’t hiding, I wasn’t tweeting my hatred for the company, I was standing up in front of the world, in front of TWENTY THOUSAND SCW FANS and telling them that I WOULD fight, that I WOULD stand up for this company, and that I’d put everything on the line to make sure that we DO have a future, to make sure that NOBODY in the back has to be afraid and has to look over their shoulder or hide in the locker room with the door bolted shut. I’m not hiding, I’m not cowering, and if you’ve got any doubt about that just turn on the monitor and see who’s standing in the middle of the ring telling the most sadistic group of assholes who’ve EVER tried to cause chaos around here not to attack people in the locker room, not to hang buckets of blood from the rafters, not to jump people in the boiler room and not to attack people with numbers, I was the one standing in the middle of the ring telling Aiken Frost and his ‘New Eden’ that if they find security around here to be such a joke then make their way past that security, come out to the ring and FIGHT SOMEONE WHO’LL FIGHT BACK,” she screams passionately at the camera. “And I didn’t do it for the love of the locker room, I didn’t do it so that you’ll all be my best friend because I know all of you, I’ve known a lot of you for five years and in those years all I’ve gotten is hatred from so many of you. But that’s ok, I don’t need to be voted Prom Queen, I didn’t do what I did for the haters, I did it because it was the right thing to do.”
“And that’s what this is all about. That’s why Sunday night is happening. It’s happening because there is a minority of that locker room — and unfortunately it remains a minority in spite of everything that’s happened — who ARE willing to do the right thing. And in order to do that, in order to get the opportunity to do good, we’ve got to in turn give them an opportunity as well. On Sunday night, if we can’t win this thing, if we can’t stand our ground and finally start pushing back against a group who’ve done nothing but take from us in every encounter so far, then there is every chance that things could get very bad for all of us. They’ve taken the Adrenaline Championship. They control that title now and they won’t be letting it go easily. On Sunday night they could the Underground Championship and the United States Championship as well. On Sunday night Rachel Foxx could take the Underground title and Mika Koslov could take the United States Championship and in their hands they could hold half the gold in this company. On Sunday night they could force a Supreme Champion in to retirement, they could become number one contender to the World title or they could have their leader sitting on the Board of Directors and dictating all of our futures, at least in part,” she says and it’s more than obvious from her tone that she seems afraid by each of those possibilities. “Sunday night could be the best night they’ve ever had, the night that they get all the power and all the control, the night that they literally start to run the show. Or Sunday night could be the beginning of the end of all of it.”
“On Sunday night we’ve got to put it all on the line, we’ve got to risk EVERYTHING against them, so that in return if we stop them we can deliver a blow to them that they’re not going to recover from,” she explains passionately. “You see on Sunday night Foxx Global could be no more. No more Decay, no more Ba’al, no more cheap attacks, no more gang warfare. On Sunday night if we pin Rachel Foxx then for the first time in a very long time she’s forced to stand ON HER OWN, and believe me if I had my way after what she did to Adam Sharper she wouldn’t be standing at all. But that’s not all, because on Sunday night even if James Marsh-Asher can’t get the job done — and I’m hoping he can because I know him VERY well and I know there are few better in this INDUSTRY than him — we could still claim back the Adrenaline Championship or we could make sure that Red Rayne doesn’t get another chance to take anything from us for a long, long time. But there’s even more than that. We could take away a weapon from a bully, and I can’t imagine too many people will be upset to see Matt Auclair without one of his weapons, but the biggest prize of all that’s on the line on Sunday night is the fact that we could stop Aiken Frost. The man who believes himself untouchable, the man who’s led his ‘New Eden’ in to all of our lives, who’s made our lives miserable, we cannot only STOP Aiken Frost but we can BANISH him. It’s like a fairytale, isn’t it? On Sunday night we LITERALLY have the chance to banish evil and this is the kind of chance you only get ONCE.”
“Now I know it might not happen. I can’t tell you with absolute certainty that it will. I’m not willing to lie to you guys so I’m going to lay it all out here for you right now. We might not be able to make the kind of difference that I want to make. We might not be able to stand up to them the way we all know we have to. And my team, the five people who’ll be standing up for this company, it isn’t exactly the first five you’d think of when you think of five people who represent SCW with everything on the line, is it? I mean there’s only one survivor on this team from the team that took on the fight at Under Attack and that man is David Helms. Why did I pick David Helms? You guys know my history with him. You guys know my problems with him. You guys even know that at one point not too long ago I was so certain that he was the man I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with, and here we are not even a year later and we can barely be in the same room as each other. Yet I had a choice of anyone on the roster to take his spot and I chose him,” she says with certainty and commitment. “I chose David Helms because whatever I think about him personally, whatever deal he’s made with Silas Mason, whatever is going on with his life and his career he is still one of the BEST this business has ever produced. No matter what’s going on with his life and his career he’s a Supreme Champion, a guy who’s been to every possible level in this business, who’s encountered every possible situation in this business and who’s NEVER backed down and ALWAYS come through. I picked David Helms because I wanted the best.”
“And it’s for that very same reason that I picked Regan Street as well,” she says softly. “Five weeks ago she and I were at each other’s throats. Five weeks ago we both had everything to prove in that ring and we both left everything in that ring. Five weeks ago I defended the SCW World title against her in the most personal match of my entire life and you know what I learned on that night? There is nobody else on this earth who’s more passionate, more determined and who fights harder than Regan Street! I don’t like her, she’s another person on this team that I can barely stand to be in the same room as, and her reasons for joining this team weren’t what I hoped they would be, but I set out to assemble a team of the BEST in SCW to represent SCW and there was no way I was leaving her out. Now the reason she agreed to join, the reason she agreed to fight, it isn’t what I hoped it would be. I knew we weren’t friends but I hoped she’d find more reason to join this fight than the chance to beat me down, but you know what? If that’s what it takes to get her on side then yah, we’ll go one on one, we’ll have another match, but in the meantime Regan let me talk to you for a moment. You said not too long ago that if you couldn’t beat me at Under Attack then you never deserved to be the SCW World Champion. You said not too long ago that if you couldn’t beat me at Under Attack you’d find another path. I told you that was bullshit then and I’ll tell you again that its bullshit now! At Total War Regan you’ve got a chance to prove yourself on a stage that’s bigger than you and me. At Total War it’s not about us, it’s about SCW!”
“I’m proud to represent this company. I’m proud to fight for this company. I’m even proud to represent it when I don’t necessarily agree with everything that our boss does, and just recently I’m not the only one disagreeing with ol’ Mr Douche either, am I? But when he gave me this match, when he sanctioned this opportunity, he did so with one condition and that condition was the man named Fury. Mr D brought him in to do what other people couldn’t. Mr D brought him in to be the weapon that he needed, and at Total War he’s going to be just that. At Total War all our fates are in his hands, just as his are in ours, and I don’t know you Fury, you and I have barely spoken to each other in the locker room, we’re not exactly the most cohesive of teams, but on Sunday night I’m putting all my trust, all my faith, in you to be everything that Mr D thinks you can be, and I need you to come through because this time there is no second chance, this time there is no do-over, I didn’t have a choice but to put you on this team but from everything I’ve seen, from everything I’ve heard, I’ve got to believe that this Sunday when the Evil League of Evil knows what to expect from me, from Regan, from David, they won’t know what to expect from you,” she says, nodding her head proudly. “You’re the wild card, the unknown factor, and you’re the one who if he loses we risk losing EVERYTHING. So I’m putting my faith in you Fury, those people out there in that crowd in Toronto are going to be putting their faith in you as well, and this Sunday I hope with every fibre of my being that you’re going to be everything that Mr D thought you could be.”
She pauses then, almost like she's not sure whether to continue, and then lets a slight smile cross her lips. “I just called Fury the wild card but for a lot of people who’ve spoken to me since Breakdown, a lot of you who’ve asked me why I made the choices I made, it isn’t Fury that you questioned, it was Ravyn Taylor. I get that. Regan Street, David Helms, former World Champions, two of the best this company has ever known. But Ravyn Taylor? You guys don’t trust her. You guys think she’s got her own agenda. You guys aren’t really sure whether you want to put faith in her. I don’t blame you. Ravyn perhaps isn’t the most likeable person in the world. She’s not a former World Champion, she’s not known for defending the rights of others and I could have picked someone like that. Simon Lyman, James Marsh-Asher, Donovan Kayl, Tommy Valentine, I could have gone to any of them and asked them to step up and be our partner and I’d have been proud to team with any one of them but I picked Ravyn for a reason,” she explains softly. She then steps forward and takes the camera from the person who’s apparently been holding it and places it down and that person steps out from behind the camera to reveal it’s none other than Ravyn Taylor. Syren smiles at her and Ravyn just smirks. “It’s because I love her. It’s because I trust her. It’s because she’s unlike anyone else on this team. She’s cunning, she’s vindictive, she knows how they think and she’s proven herself over the past few months as more than deserving of this spot, but there’s more. She’s got a reason to be here.”
“You mean because I’m turning over a new leaf and I’m going to become a Good, Good Girl now?” Ravyn asks before laughing and shaking her head. “No, I’m still a bad girl and I always will be. Over the past year people have literally tried to beat that out of me, and yet here I am. But you’re right; I do have a reason to be here. I have more than one. I have you. I have Dark Fantasy. I have the most successful duo in the history of the SCW World Tag Team Championship division, the team with more title defences than anyone else and a length of reign that may never be equalled. But I have another reason as well and that reason is Aiken Frost. I have a history with him, a very personal history with him, a history that he tried to play on in Montreal, a history he tried to use to get inside my head but better men have tried and they’ve failed just the same. My entire career has been about one thing — evolution. The survival of the fittest, the theory that the strongest survive, and with Aiken Frost it’s never been about survival, it’s been about eradication. When Zoe — Syren — asked me to team with her I had no hesitation. I may not be your favourite. I may be nobody’s favourite. But I know how to adapt, I know how to survive, and I have every reason in this world to stand in that ring on Sunday night representing this company because while you may think me careless, heartless and cruel it’s not heroes you need when everything is on the line, sometimes in your hour of need you’ve got to trust in a Bad, Bad Girl.”
“This Sunday,” Syren says, giving her former long-time tag team partner a snide look which only makes the brunette smile, “we’re crossing a line from which there is no return. This Sunday we’re going up against a man who some have called the Devil Incarnate and a team of his, a team of vindictive, blood-thirsty warriors. Some are proven — I don’t think I need to detail the accomplishments of Rachel Foxx, nor should I need to remind you of the things she’s done inside cages before — and some are still proving themselves, but proving to be all but unstoppable. There’s not been many who’ve been able to say they got a victory when the Red Rayne started to fall. There’s not too many who’ve been able to say they went toe to toe with Matt Auclair without coming out the other side the worse for it. And there is nobody in this company who can put their hand on their heart and say that their life hasn’t been affected in some way by Aiken Frost, whether he’s been leading his monster, leading his blood-soaked bride or leading his ‘New Eden’. They’ve stepped on everyone in their way. They’ve walked over Hall of Famers, they’ve walked over veterans, and how many of you in the back, how many of you who’ll be sitting with your arms crossed on Sunday claiming that this has nothing to do with you, how many of YOU have they stepped on to get what they wanted before? Well, after this Sunday night it could be over. Never again might you hear Aiken Frost bragging about his latest victory. And we can’t get rid of them all, but we can weaken them, we can STOP them and that’s what we intend to do.”
“This Sunday in Toronto it could be SCW’s last true stand. This Sunday in Toronto it could be our last stand against them, it could be the last chance for this roster to truly prevent them from taking everything they want and for that, at least in part, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I let him manipulate me. I’m sorry I let him up the stakes. I’m sorry I let him have his stipulations but this Sunday I’m going to make all you people a promise, and that promise is that I am going to go out to that ring and I’m going to fight for you, I’m going to fight for this company, I’m going to fight for everyone who’s suffered, everyone who’s gotten hurt and everyone who’s been made a victim at their hands. On Sunday night James Evans is going to fight for SCW. On Sunday night James Marsh-Asher is going to fight for SCW. On Sunday night Ravyn Taylor and Merrick Wiseman are going to fight for SCW. And in the main event, when it’s all on the line, our team is going to stand united, stand proud, STAND TALL, and we’re going to stand with everyone in that locker room who’s sick and tired of New Eden thinking they can run this place. We’re going to stand with every technician they’ve bullied, every cameraman they’ve put in danger and yes, every commentator they’ve hurt. This Sunday in the Air Toronto Centre we’re going to stand with TWENTY-THOUSAND SCW FANS and we’re going to draw our line in the sand and we’re going to fight for it,” she says, holding up the SCW World title again. “This Sunday it’s not about this title, it’s not about whose next or who thinks it should be them, this Sunday it’s bigger than that, this Sunday it’s about the FUTURE OF OUR COMPANY and we’re going to stand united and we’re going to win. And Aiken Frost, listen very closely because you know what comes next. This Sunday when Team SCW emerges from Tactical Warfare beaten, bruised, damaged but WINNERS then we’ll have made our stand, we’ll have beaten you, and we’ll have shown you can only push so far before we push back.”
She steps back and she lays the SCW World title at her feet and steps behind it. Ravyn joins her on the opposite side of the title as Syren stares into the camera and then motions with both hands for them to come. “This Sunday the pay per view name couldn’t be more perfect, after all what did they expect when they named it this? This Sunday it will be TOTAL WAR, and we’re not backing down. BRING. IT. ON!”
And with that the scene ends and we fade out to black before the video ends and the replay button flashes up on the screen.
