The video begins and we see what seems to be a close up of a medical report. The report has details of impact tests, all of which are marked as ‘passed’, and has notes about a shoulder injury that is marked as ‘progressing’ and a back injury which is marked as ‘negligible’. The camera pans out slowly and we see more and more of the medical report – with some important, personal details covered up – and then we see more of the room around the report, and we see whose hands the report is in. The woman holding the report seems to be the subject of that very same medical report, Zoe Sperling, known better by her professional name of Syren. “Guess what?” she asks the camera with an excited tone in her voice. “A few weeks ago I got attacked. A few weeks ago the woman who trained me pulled the referee out of the ring during my match, and while I was busy dealing with that I got jumped by two individuals who then allowed my opponent to put me in a hold that was designed to take me out. I’m not going to lie; they did a number on me. They hurt me. My back was killing me after that. They didn’t stop me though. Then, after that, those same two individuals went after a guy I promised to stand alongside, and when I came to his aid I was attacked by two more. My back was hurt. My shoulder was hurt. My ribs were damaged. But despite ALL OF THAT I still showed up the next week, I was covered in bandages but ready to go. I was still ready to fight. But Id didn’t get a chance because I was knocked out in the back and taken to a Mexican medical facility.”

She laughs a little and smiles at the camera. “You know one thing I learned while in Mexico is that Mexican doctors are really sweet. Another thing I learned is that Supreme Championship Wrestling really seems to be taking injuries seriously. After being found unconscious the medical guys just wouldn’t take my word for it that I was ok. They told me that they needed proof. So, last week, before the show, they put me through a whole bunch of tests. When it was over, they gave me this piece of paper. It’s got a lot on here, but the key part, the most important part, is that I’m medically cleared to compete. I’m good to go! I was last week, and I am again this week, and this is in spite of the fact that I’ve been promised for weeks now that I ‘wouldn’t be making it’ to Rise to Greatness,” she says, smiling again, a confident look in her eyes. “So, I guess the first thing I really need to do is say thank you. Thank you to Kraven Wallace. Thank you to Angelica Jones. Thank you to Brittany Lohan. Thank you to Harmony Fisher. The four of you all did a number on me a few weeks ago, you beat me down and you tried to put me out. But instead of curling up in to a little ball of despair, instead of looking back at what happened to me at the hands of Shilo Valiant a year ago and thinking that history was repeating itself and that I was doomed to failure all over again because I’m just not able to fight the entire world on my own, instead of breaking me and forcing me to give up, the four of you just gave me MORE REASON TO FIGHT! So for that, I want to personally thank each of you. You have no idea how much you’ve all inspired me.”

She puts the medical report down and begins smiling at the camera again before twirling her arm around in a circle. “Now, in the interests of full disclosure, I’ll be honest with you here – that still hurts a little. It’s still a little stiff. And some mornings I still feel a little twinge in my back. But for the last few weeks you guys have tried to take me out, and you’ve failed. And I know that it’s not over yet. I know that there’s still more to come. I know that the closer we get to Rise to Greatness the tougher it’s going to get for me. I know that this week on Breakdown I better have eyes in the back of my head because the four of you – all of Silas World, actually – will be on the hunt again, right? I know that. And while I know the way you expect me to react to that, while I know the way you hope I’ll react to that, there’s only one way I’m going to react to it and that’s to give you all a message. Are you listening? Here it is: BRING IT THE FUCK ON,” she says loudly and proudly to the camera. “Every time you guys have attacked me, every time you guys have hurt me, every bruise you’ve given me, every hospital visit you’ve put me through, all it’s done is MOTIVATE me. It’s motivated me to continue to stand up to all of you and tell you that you can beat me down but you can’t BREAK me. You can hurt my body but you’ll NEVER break my SPIRIT! And every week, instead of curling up and thinking that I’m doomed, all you’re doing it providing me with even more motivation to go to Miami, to compete in the BIGGEST MATCH OF MY LIFE in the MAIN EVENT of the BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR and to end that match STANDING TALL as the SCW World Heavyweight Champion!”

“Last week was supposed to be your little celebration, wasn’t it? Shaun Cruze and Silas Mason both were looking so proud of themselves. You knocked me out. You took out Jake. You thought you had everything under control. You thought things were going your way. You thought we were down. You thought we were out. You thought you were going to get what you wanted after all. Well, I’d say I’m sorry for raining on your parade but I’m not. I’m not sorry at all. That’s why I walked out there. That’s why I interrupted you. And that’s why I found myself two partners who didn’t let me down. Tommy Valentine and Simon Lyman, I know I’ve said this to both of you in the back but I’m going to say it right now so it’s official in front of the cameras – thank you. Thank you for being the guys I knew you were. Thank you for being the competitors I knew you were. In a whole world full of selfish assholes who think the only way to get ahead is to cheat and beat people with chairs thank you for being two stand up guys who believe in doing the RIGHT THING. Thank you for having my back against Silas World. And thank you for helping me send a message,” she says, smiling happily. “Did you get my message Shaun? Did you get my message Silas? That message is that your plan isn’t working. Your hit squad couldn’t get the job done. And last week my music played loud throughout that arena while in the back you guys found yourself on the receiving end of something you didn’t expect. Now I’ll admit that that’s not really my style, but I did find it pretty funny to watch the replays...”

“How’s it feel guys? How’s it feel think you can bully your way in to getting what you want only to find that those you’re trying to turn in to victims aren’t so willing to go down and stay down? I’m not staying down now, and as the momentum builds toward Rise to Greatness I don’t intend on staying down then either. But while I’m feeling GOOD right now, while I’m feeling PUMPED UP right now, I know that there’s a long way to go until Rise to Greatness and I know that while you may all be licking your wounds after Breakdown this week I’m going to need to be on my guard. I’m going to need eyes in the back of my head, huh? And in the sides as well! Hell maybe I’ll even need another pair in the front, because I know if I blink at the wrong time then it could mean another attack. I know that because really, that’s all you’ve got. And while I’m defying the odds, while I’m finding people who think the same way I think, while I’m finding people I dare even call friends to stand tall with me you’re planning to put me down all over again. But, like I already said, bring it on,” she says before smirking. “I’m not going to stand here and tell you I’m not afraid of you, because I am. I’m not going to stand here and tell you that I’m not worried about what might happen, because I am. You’d be stupid not to be afraid, right? But while I may be afraid I’m not going to let that stop me. I’m not going to let fear stop me. I’ve got a date in Miami that I’m looking forward to. I’ve got an opportunity I’ve waited A YEAR for. And I’ve already heard it called a lot of things this year, most notably Rise to Perfection, this year for me it’s only one thing: Rise to REDEMPTION!”

“A year ago I was where Shaun Cruze is right now. Ok, so I didn’t have a brother almost dying in a coma, I didn’t have an evil bitch of a girlfriend who screwed over her friend, and I actually still had my soul because I didn’t sell it to a slime ball, but I was where Shaun Cruze is in terms of heading in to the biggest show of the year as the World Heavyweight Champion. On that night I lost. No excuses, I lost. It still haunts me. And a year from now it’ll still haunt you too Shaun. Think about that, ok? Think about what it’ll mean to lose that title in a few weeks. Every time you tweet some pathetic threat, every time you put that title over your shoulder and gloat, every time you concoct some brand new two-faced bullshit scheme with people you used to claim you hated, think about how it could feel when you lose the title. Think about it because it’s going to happen Shaun. Think about that, and then come and try and finish what you started with me because I know you’re itching to. You couldn’t get it done in the ring, and I know you’re itching to finish the job outside of it,” she says, looking in to the camera with a confident stare. “See, the way I see it this week you’re not booked to compete, and that means you’ll be in the back holding that title close and watching. But I know you better than that. I know you’ll want to get your hands dirty. And I know Silas World will want to get even with Jake. But I hope you’re with them Shaun. I really hope you are. I want you to step in the ring with me, I want you with that army at your back to TRY and take me out, because I want to drop you on your face AGAIN.”

“I’ve been through wars before. This week there’s every possibility that the war is going to go to whole new levels. Silas World and Shaun Cruze against an injured Jake Starr and a beat up Syren! Will I get to spend another night in the hospital after this week? We’ll find out. But while Shaun may not be in action until next week, and while Kelcey and Jake may both have their respective matches this week, I’ve got a different challenge. I find myself in another dark match, against Mexico’s Ben McCaron. Now obviously I’ve had my own issues the last few weeks Ben and that means that I’ll be honest with you, I’ve not been paying a great deal of attention to yours. I did, however, get to witness that little stunt you pulled in your home country. That was classy! Seriously, as someone who herself got to compete in her own home recently, and someone who embraced that opportunity to put on a show for the people that support her, to see someone not only upset their own people but to pretty much just spit in all their faces was... insulting, to say the least,” she says, shaking her head in disappointment. “Why would you do that? Seriously, what goes through someone’s mind when they decide to walk out in front of a Mexican crowd, as a Mexican citizen, waving a flag from another country? What goes through someone’s mind when they decide they really want to insult every single person whose paid money to watch them? I’ve done some stuff I’m not proud of in my career I admit, but I’ve always been proud of where I came from. Tell me Ben, what exactly are you proud of?”

“I mean, you want to be the ‘greatest talent SCW has ever seen’, right? That’s your thing? You want to prove how good you are. I get that. Only thing is, you don’t actually want to PROVE how good you are, you want people to just SAY how good you are while you... low blow your opponents because you can’t figure out a way to beat them,” she says, again shaking her head slowly in disappointment. “Again, why would you do that? What goes through your head? What are you thinking about when you step in to the ring with someone and you do something like that? It doesn’t make you better than someone to be able to low blow them, and after all the promises you made, after all the threats you made, after talking shit about how you’ll be a Mexican hero and you’re going to overcome Dylan Howell, you reduce yourself to something like that and then laugh about it and act like it means something? What goes on in the head of someone like you? I’m willing to bet that whatever it is, it’s probably the same thing that goes on in the head of Shaun Cruze. I mean seriously, Shaun’s got to be your idol right now, huh? He talks a big game as well, and when he can’t deliver he sells out, just like you do. He also makes excuses. I get the feeling that that’s your thing too, right? Now maybe I’m wrong about that, maybe your thing isn’t to make excuses about the things you do but rather to just look down your nose at people instead. Yah, Shaun does that too. He doesn’t have quite such great insults though. I mean, ‘mango perro scrappy’? Dios mío!”

She laughs and then looks a little guilty. “Sorry Mexican people, I don’t mean to make fun. It’s just... I mean, are you guys proud to have Ben McCaron representing you? I’m pretty sure I know the answer to that. I’m pretty sure I know that because I’m pretty sure I felt the wave of hate hitting me in the back. Hell, maybe that wave of hate was even the thing that knocked me out cold, right? Because it was pretty intense,” she says before laughing again. “You see the problem is that Ben McCaron is the kind of guy in this business with no respect. He has no respect for his opponents, he has no respect for the company, he has no respect for anything around him, and even if he says he does he shows that he doesn’t by turning around and doing the things that he does. But to show he has no respect for his own people? That’s low. But while this week is an opportunity for so many things, it’s an opportunity for Ben McCaron as well. It may only be a dark match, and I know how much he’s longing to be the greatest star in the history of the universe so I’m willing to bet that doesn’t sit particularly well with him, but this week is an opportunity for Ben to go up against not only a former SCW World Heavyweight Champion but one of the four who’ll compete for that title in a few weeks. When I was in Ben’s position – it was a while back now but I still remember it pretty well – those were the kinds of opportunities I longed for. It’s an opportunity for him to forget what happened in Mexico. It’s an opportunity for him to forget what happened with Dylan Howell. It’s an opportunity for him to prove himself in the ring. Is he going to take it?”

“You want to be a top star Ben; you want to be one of the best. Those are admirable things to want. They’re admirable goals to have. But in order to get there, in order to get the big chances, in order to prove yourself in this company – in this business – you can’t just say what you want to do, you’ve got to deliver when it matters. And this week it’s a dark match in front of a packed Oklahoma crowd in the Chesapeake Energy Arena and this week it matters,” she says with a grin. “But it doesn’t just matter for you, this isn’t just an opportunity for you, this is an opportunity for me as well. I’ve already said, I’ve been beaten up. I’ve been hurt. I’ve got a group of guys and girls who want to put me on the shelf. I’m in the middle of a war. But stepping in to the ring with you, getting that opportunity to go one on one with someone like you, is exactly what I need. I didn’t get to compete in Mexico. Not only did I miss out on the main event of Breakdown, but I missed the whole damn tour after what happened to me. Last week I came back with a vengeance, last week I stood up to Silas World, but I’ve still got some kinks I need to work out, I’ve still got some frustration I want to take out, and I’ve still got a whole lot of momentum I want to build. And that’s what this match is about for me this week. It’s about a chance to work out a few more kinks and prove to the world – or at least to the fans in Oklahoma – that no matter how badly they try to hurt me I will NOT stay down. It’s a chance to take out some of the anger I feel on you, Ben. And it’s a chance to test myself and build momentum.”

“I can feel it right now. I can sense it. It’s so close. The main event of the biggest show of the year, for the second year running, and my chance to put everything that happened to me against Shilo Valiant behind me once and for all. I can feel it. The energy is running through me. The excitement is pumping through my veins. And so is the fear. There aren’t too many things that I do well in this world, but one thing I do better than anyone else is compete in that ring, and this week Ben I’m going to introduce you that. This week I’m hoping to educate you a little. This week I’m hoping to teach you respect, this week I’m hoping to teach you the value of competition, and this week I’m hoping to show you just what it means not to SAY you want to be the best but to PROVE you can be,” she says before smiling. “This week, as a special bonus just for those people at the event, Ben McCaron takes on Syren, and this week there will be no ‘mangy perros’, this week there will only be competition. Over the past few weeks I’ve been fighting a war against a whole bunch of people who’ve tried to take me out. This week I’m not fighting Silas World, this week I’m just fighting one disrespectful egomaniac. He’s a disrespectful egomaniac with talent, a disrespectful egomaniac with ability, a disrespectful egomaniac with the size and the strength to go where he wants to go, but this week I aim to show him just how short he is of reaching those goals. She steps forward and plants a kiss on the lens of the camera before twirling back around as the video ends and the replay button flashes up on the screen.
