The video begins at the beach house owned by Dark Fantasy members Ravyn Taylor and Zoe Sperling in Malibu, California. Based on the clock, showing the date, on the counter behind where Syren is standing we can tell that this was filmed a few days ago. In the middle of the frame however stands former Unity Champion Syren as she nods at the camera. “Hey guys, how’s it going? Big week this week, one I’m really looking forward to, but before I get to that there’s something I wanted to talk about because… well, do you guys notice anything missing?” she asks, looking around before nodding her head and letting out a sigh. “Yep, that’s right, I’m not standing here right now as one half of the new Unity Champions, like I feel I should be. That disappoints me as well. A few months ago the world watched as Shaw screwed Dark Fantasy over with not one illegal shot with my own title belt but two in order to take those titles away from us, something that neither one of us have forgotten, and a few weeks ago at Unstoppable we hoped to rise above that and to regain those titles in the right away, in the middle of that ring. Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way. Can’t say I’m happy about that either. I wanted that belt back. I still do. So I’m going to make a promise, or a threat – call it what you will – right now and say that Dark Fantasy WILL regain those titles. If they’re listening, Shaw and Charlotte should take note of that.”

“Now we could do what others have done before and ‘move on’. That’s the advice that you normally get given when you lose. ‘Just move on’. But we don’t want to move on. We wanted to prove that Dark Fantasy is amongst the top tag teams not just in FFW today but in FFW history and we will do that. We have that goal in mind, and we’re not going to stop until we’ve accomplished it, and the fact that it’s not easy only makes it better. I mean look at FFW right now; with the creation of the Tornado Tag Team Championships we’re looking at the most competitive tag team division in any company anywhere in the world. Most companies struggle to maintain one tag team division, but now with the Unity division, Tornado division and Trios division FFW has three and they’re all thriving! And guys, you had better believe that is something that Dark Fantasy wants to be a part of, and one day in the future we plan to be able to say that we didn’t just conquer the Unity division but every division,” she says with a smile and a nod toward the camera, looking confident in that statement. “But guys, that’s something I couldn’t not talk about, but it’s all for the future. Before then I may be in tag team action this week but not with Ravyn and not as part of Dark Fantasy. Instead I have a whole different opportunity ahead of me, and one I’m psyched about.”

“The very first time I got anyone’s attention in FFW was while competing in the Chase for the Crown last year, and unfortunately that didn’t go the way I wanted. I got eliminated in what turned out to be the semi-final, and while I may have gotten a little payback on that elimination I’ve had to live with the fact, for over a year, that the first opportunity FFW gave me I dropped the ball with. This year, when the Chase for the Crown was announced again and I saw my name on Twitter you better believe I was excited for a second chance. You don’t get them often in this business, and this is one that I’m genuinely looking forward to,” she says, again with confidence flowing through her and a huge, happy smile on her face. “The format of the tournament has changed again, but that only makes it all the more fun. Last time out we had the big eight-woman tag match to kick things off, this time we’re doing a tournament of Strange Bedfellows and in round one I’m proud and privileged to say that I’m teaming with the FFW Television Champion, a woman I genuinely admire and someone I know is going to become one of the biggest stars this company has one day, Kaylee Clarke. This my first chance to get to know her, my first chance to work with or against her, and a chance for the two of us to show what a positive attitude, athleticism and technical ability can do in this business because those are three things I like to think I have and three things I know Kaylee does.”

“I won’t lie to you guys, I’ve been watching her for a while not as a potential friend and ally but a potential opponent considering she’s the one with the Television Championship right now, and you guys know that’s a title I’ve had my eyes on in the past. What I’ve seen is a nineteen year old with a world of potential. I came from kind of an athletic and gymnastic background – well, mostly a cheerleading background but I was always top of my class in gym – and Kaylee has come from an amateur wrestling background, and while I can see so much of me in her I can see her capable of things I was never capable of as well. When you see the way she folds people up in the ring, the pins she’s capable pulling off, it’s awe-inspiring at times and I love watching it. Genuinely guys I’m a Kaylee Clarke fan, so the chance to work with her this week is just awesome. But of course I know that it’s only for this week,” she says with a nod and a straight face. “Win or lose this week our Strange Bedfellows experience is over, but I think we’re both determined to make a one-night-only deal a winning experience, not least of all because it means we move to the next round and we get one step closer not just to the prize at the end but to the prestige of winning the Chase. It’s something all eight of us in this thing want, but ultimately something only one of us can have.”

“Now I’ve been forced to team up with people before – some that I liked, others that I really didn’t – and I know how difficult it can be, but I can promise you one thing. I’m not going into this match demanding Kaylee be the one who follows my lead. I’m not going into this with an ego, shouting my demands and expecting her to follow me. We’re going into this as a team this week and frankly I think that already puts us one step above our opponents because, and I ask this in the nicest possible way, is anyone really expecting Jo McFarlane and Valentina Lorenzo to get along?” she asks before scoffing and shaking her head. “That’s not an insult to Jo in the least. Quite honestly if there was one woman in this tournament other than Kaylee I could pick as a partner then it would be Jo. It’s not like we’ve been the best of friends so far – ok, maybe a few conversations on Twitter here and there – but ever since I walked through the door here I’ve been watching Jo and I respect the hell out of everything she’s done as well. This right here is a Future Shock Cup winner, Future Shock Champion, No Surrender Champion, and that’s just within FFW. If I started talking about everything she’s done in wrestling I’d be here half the night just talking her up as a challenge, because if there’s one thing that’s guaranteed it’s that Jo McFarlane is a challenge for anyone!”

“And while I’ve never gotten in the ring with Jo yet I have fought her sister in a match that was… perhaps a little controversial. I’m hoping that Jo won’t be holding that against me this week because as far as I’m concerned going into this there won’t be any controversy. There’s nothing I want more than to step between those ropes and find out which one of our teams is the better team and deserves to advance to the next round, and I know that any team opposing a team with Jo on it is up for a fight. When you get into the ring against someone like her as well you’ve got to be ready for anything, because we’ve all seen how damn quick she can be in the ring, am I right? But that’s where I think Kaylee and me have the advantage this week because while Jo is undoubtedly quick, we’ve got the technical ability to ground her and then it doesn’t matter how fast you are when you’re on the mat,” she says with another confident and happy smile. “But Jo’s going to know that, and she’s going to do whatever she needs to in order to avoid that, so we’ve got to be ready. In fact, from what I’ve heard, Jo’s one of those people who really is willing to go the extra mile and do what she’s got to do, and that’s something that I can kind of admire because it’s an attitude I’ve had in the past. Sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do, right? Especially when something like the next round of the Chase is on the line.”

“But while there may be a little of that attitude this week I’m not planning to be another person to catch Gingervitus, if you know what I’m saying,” she says with a grin on her face. “And Jo, I want you to know something right now, ok? You, like a whole bunch of others – like I’m reminded of every single week it feels like – might be looking at me and thinking ‘this is a former ally of Maddie McTaggert, I better watch out’ but sweetie there’s one key word in there that I cannot stress the importance of, and that’s former. So please, don’t do the growingly cliché thing that every other opponent I seem to come up against decides to do and expect that I’ve got some hidden agenda and I’m planning to give you a makeover and try to turn you blonde. I’m haven’t and I’m not. Maddie may be my friend but we all know she can be a grade-A bitch and that’s why we’re former partners. I don’t want to be associated with that, I’m working my butt off to prove that I’m nothing like that, and what happened before with your sister may have been more of Maddie’s style of business but this week you can honestly expect anything but the same from me. The only thing I want is to get in that ring, show the FFW fans what I’m capable of, and make this match the one that every single person in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum goes home talking about. I want to do justice to this tournament, and to everything that it’s meant to be about.”

“I think that Jo feels the same way. At least, I hope she does. But I know as a fact that that isn’t what Valentina is interested in at all this week. Instead what Valentina is interested in is the same thing every cliché egomaniac in this business is interested in. You know the type. The ‘bow down in front of me’, ‘kiss my feet’ type that, honestly, gives women in this business the worst possible name,” she says before rolling her eyes and letting out a sigh. “Do you want to know why the casual fans see women in this sport and think that we’re inferior to the guys? Do you want to know why we’re paid less? Do you want to know why we get so much less respect? Because of women like Valentina bringing the entire reputation of women in this business down! Not only is she a ‘Real Bitch’ – by the way, totally the truest thing I’ve ever known her say about herself and it’s her Twitter handle – but she’s also a ‘Latin Goddess’, right? And like all ‘Goddesses’ she needs people to worship her, to bow down to her, and every other annoying, soul-sucking cliché bullshit thing that her and the unfortunate number of others just like her say on a weekly basis. Honestly, I’ve dealt with so many ‘Goddesses’, so many ‘Queens’, so many ‘Princesses’ and all too many who believe that they’re ‘flawless’ over the last few years that seeing another one, listening to her talk and brag and bitch just makes me want to drop her face first on the mat and shut her mouth for good. Or at least to knock her out of the tournament…”

She rolls her eyes and lets out a sigh. “Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not taking anything away from the skill Valentina has in the ring. You see this girl, at a hundred and thirty five pounds, and the way she strikes, the way she hits, the way she takes the game to her opponents, and you’ve got to have some respect for her ability. It’s pretty much impossible not to respect her ability. And much like I know how Jo is going to come at Kaylee and me this week I also know how Valentina is, and it’s not going to be using quickness and agility, it’s going to be just coming at us because that’s what she does,” she says, nodding her head and you can see by the look in her eyes she’s obviously been impressed by what she’s seen of Valentina. “But as good as she is, as tough as she is and as hard as she hits she’s going to find she’s met her match this week because when she hits me, I’m going to hit her back, and when she tries to take me down to the mat I’m going to burst her little egotistical bubble in the worst way and show her that the t-shirts don’t say ‘Best Female Wrestler in the World’ because it’s just a cool marketing slogan. If Valentina wants to go with anyone this week, if she wants to try to make anyone ‘kiss her feet’ this week, I dare her to try that shit with me and see what happens, because if I’ve shown nothing else in six years in this business I’ve shown that I don’t bow down to anyone!”

“I know she’s got a history with Kaylee. I know she’ll be coming at us this week looking not just to advance in the tournament, which – knowing egotistically bitches like her as well as I unfortunately do, I mean I am friends with Maddie McTaggert after all so I have experience, right? – she’ll think is already her god given right, but to prove a point against the Television Champion, to attempt to humiliate her again and to try to reposition herself for a shot at the gold, something that I’m going to do my damnedest to make sure does not happen out of respect for my partner this week. And I know that she wants this just as much as anyone else. She’s probably already planning the victory celebration for after Sin & Sacrifice, right? Totally already got the people on the phone telling them the kind of centrepieces to make, more than likely ones with her face on them so everyone she invites can bask in her awesomeness or whatever. Well I hope that’s not the case because the centrepieces will need to be cancelled and the only calls Valentina will need to make are to her beautician, because I can’t speak for Kaylee this week but I do speak for myself when I promise that if I get my way this week isn’t ending with another ‘bow down’ moment but with a Total Makeover, and no Jo, not the Maddie-McTaggert-hates-gingers kind.”

“Going into Velocity this week there is simply nothing that matters more to me than proving myself in that ring and advancing in this tournament. As with every tournament I’m not entering this with a Plan B, I’m entering this to show what I can do, to book my place in the next round, to find out who my next partner will be – I’d totally love if it was Kaylee again, but I’m not going to place too much hope on that – and to show the world that I may not have been good enough last year when I first entered Chase for the Crown but this is a second chance that’s almost too good to be true, and not going to drop the ball again, this time I’m picking it up and running the full length of the field with it,” she says with another confident smile. “So what do you think, guys? Are you all as excited as I am? This week begins another Chase, this week we rock the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, and I may have a few problems with a few laws in Mississippi but there’s one thing I have no problem with and that’s the spirit of every single FFW fan who’ll fill the Coliseum on Thursday night. It’s going to be a night to remember, a night I’ll never forget for a lot of reasons, but not one that I’ll be ‘moving on’ from, one I’ll be advancing through while unfortunately Jo McFarlane, but especially Valentina Lorenzo, look up from their backs, see Kaylee and me with our arms raised, and have no other choice but to BE TOTALLY JEALOUS!”

She kisses her fingers and is about to blow the kiss toward the camera when she stops and begins to smile. “Oh crap, I almost forgot the other big news you guys,” she says, stepping out of camera shot for a moment and returning carrying what seems to be a Blu-ray with her picture on it along with the words ‘Syren: World Class’. She looks exceptionally proud as she holds it up. “Ok, for anyone who didn’t hear and who doesn’t believe this – because honestly I didn’t believe this at first either – you guys can now get your very own Syren DVD or Blu-ray. How awesome is that? It chronicles my best moments, and my worst moments, in FFW so far.
