The video begins and we see on the wall of the hotel room we’re looking at a large picture of the New Jersey skyline. In front of that wall is all the normal things you’d expect from a hotel and along with them stands Syren. She’s dressed in a pink t-shirt with a heart on the front but she doesn’t look as though she’s feeling as loving as the clothing would suggest. “Hey guys, how’s it going?” she asks before smiling a little at the camera. “Its Friday night, we’re in New Jersey, we’re two days away from The Final Level and that means a few different things. First of all it means that David Helms is officially thirty-five years old. His birthday was yesterday. Happy belated birthday to him! And if you want to know why that’s important then that’s proof that you’ve been living under a rock or something. I mean the show itself gets it’s name from the fact that David is thirty-five years old and the day that a lot of people have been dreading is almost upon us. Sunday night is the final time we’re ever going to see David Helms compete in an SCW ring. And in a way that’s something to be celebrated, as well as something to be dreaded, because I’ll be honest even after all my problems with him I still don’t want to see him go. But he has his reasons, right? He has family he wants to see. He has a son he wants to raise. He has a life that he wants to enjoy.”

She pauses for a moment as though she’s just said something that affected her. “I don’t,” she says after a few moments of silence. She looks away from the camera for a few moments before looking back at it again and taking in a deep breath. “Ok, so I wasn’t going to talk about this with you guys because it’s deeply personal and it’s something I’ve been struggling with the last couple of months, but I feel like now is a good time to talk to you about it. You see I used to think David was crazy. I used to think that even the thought of stepping away from this business was insane. And when he set his date, and he told the world that that was going to be it, that he was going to hang up his tights after that date, I thought he’d change his mind, I thought he’d back out at the last second, I thought that the thought of a life without this business in it would scare him straight and he’d be back focused on competing again. I couldn’t imagine what could be more important than this. And then, a couple of months ago, I started to get it. See there’s something you should know about me: I thought about hanging up my tights recently too. That wasn’t out of frustration. It wasn’t out of resentment. It wasn’t because I’d lost my spot. I wasn’t planning to take my ball and go home like so many others have. Actually what I was planning to do was start a family…”

She takes in another deep breath before laughing a little at that. “Yah, can you imagine it? Can you imagine me as a mother? I’m not exactly the most responsible person in the world. I’ve not exactly shown the most motherly of instincts. But yet it’s true, I was honestly thinking about taking a year – maybe longer – and starting a family. Only it turns out there’s a problem… with me,” she confesses nervously before smiling weakly at the camera. “I found out recently that I can’t have children. That’s um… that’s really hard to actually say out loud on camera, but it’s true. I have a problem with me and, um… I’m not capable of having children of my own. And that’s been a difficult thing for me to deal with, especially with everything else happening in my life right now. You see while I may not be the most motherly person in the world there is nothing that matters more to me in this business and in this world than family. I’ve been fighting for family recently. I’ve been fighting to do right by my family. I’ve been fighting for my wife. I’ve been fighting for my boyfriend. I’ve been fighting for my friends. And I’ve been fighting for SCW, because as corny as this sounds this company and some of the people in it have been like family to be. And I don’t want to see it get harmed or hurt or destroyed. So I’ve been fighting to do the right thing! And not being able to have kids is part of why.”

“It’s also part of the reason that I made a statement lately. That statement, if you remember it, was that I was BORN TO DO THIS! I believe that. I believe that with every fibre of my being. You see from the earliest age I wanted to be a performer, I wanted to entertain, I wanted to dedicate myself to something way bigger than me, and in professional wrestling I found that thing. In professional wrestling I found the biggest stage in the world on which to perform. In professional wrestling I found the craziest audience I could have imagined. In professional wrestling I found the most loyal and committed fans of any sport in the world. In professional wrestling I found what I was meant to do, and in Supreme Championship Wrestling I found a home,” she says with a genuine smile. “But just being here has never been enough for me. Being part of the roster has never been enough. Performing for you guys and hearing you cheering and chanting my name is huge, but it’s not everything I want, because I’m competitive guys, I always have been, and I want to be the very best. I’ve done that before. I’ve gotten there before. Three different times I’ve stood at the top of the mountain, but do you want to know what happens when you get to the top? It makes you hunger to get back there again and again and again and again!”

“Now I know that telling you guys about my problems has a downside to it, because there’s going to be people out there who try to use that against me. There’s going to be people who try to use it to get in my head. Or there’s just going to be assholes out there who want to use it to make fun of me and call me names, but you know what? They can’t say anything to me that I haven’t thought about myself the last few months. There’s no name they can call me that I haven’t called myself. There’s no shot they can take at me that I haven’t thought long and hard about. And I’m ready for that. I’m ready for their insults. I’m ready for their cheap shots. I’m ready for them to do their worst when it comes to trying to hurt me because you know? People have been trying to hurt me physically and emotionally since day one and all they’ve ever done is motivate me,” she says with another smile, this time with a more determined look to it. “And that’s what I’ve got right now. I’ve got motivation. I’ve got desire. I’ve got more determination inside me right now to get back to the top than I’ve ever had before because now I’ve got something to prove, and it’s not to you guys, it’s not to the asshats who’ll take their cheap shots at me, and it’s not even to the people who’ve supported me, it’s to myself. I’m determined more than ever to prove to MYSELF that I can take on the biggest challenges that this company – that this BUSINESS – has to offer, and win.”

“When you find out something that huge about yourself, something that devastating about yourself, then it changes the way that you think. For a while I thought that it made me less of a person. I thought it made me less of a woman. But the truth is I’m not alone. There are other women out there who’ve suffered what I’ve suffered. There are other women out there who’ve been through what I’ve been through. And some of them may have let it beat them, but I’m not going to. I’m going to stand up after everything that’s happened to me and tell the universe that it might be a cruel bitch for putting me through this but that it won’t break me! I’m going to stand up and I’m going to fight and I’m going to show the universe itself that this setback in my personal life is just going to make me stronger! And unlike David I don’t have a date in the future now that I need to worry about. I don’t have a retirement plan to disappear and have children. In fact I have no reason to focus on anything else but being the BEST that I can be, being the BEST FEMALE WRESTLER IN THE WORLD, and my god if that isn’t my singular focus right now,” she states with fire in her eyes. “And there couldn’t be much of a better time for that either, could there? Because with the way this company is going, with the controversy all around us, and with the fact that one of the biggest heroes is stepping away there’s a definite need right now for someone to step up. That someone is me!”

“For me being the World Champion has never been about having a pretty prize to carry around. It’s not about proving that I’m ‘flawless’. It’s not about proving that I’m ‘perfect’. You guys know that I’m not, right? I’m not even close to perfect. I’m hugely flawed. But I don’t need to be either in order to prove that I’m the best! And that’s what being the SCW World Heavyweight Champion is all about. Or rather it’s what it SHOULD be all about. And I get the feeling week after week that that gets forgotten somewhere along the line. It gets forgotten somewhere with the mind games. It gets forgotten somewhere with the cheap shots. It gets forgotten somewhere with the labelling. It gets forgotten when people are telling you what they deserve to have, what they should have, what they believe they have to right to have, because being the SCW World Champion isn’t about any of those things. At its core, at its centre, it’s about one thing and that’s not how many friends you have, how many people support you on Twitter, or this insane notion that you’re better than busting your ass, it’s about getting in that ring and fighting the best in the world to prove that you can outlast all of them, and for six long years that’s what my career has been all about,” she says before nodding her head. “That’s what SCW needs right now. It needs a champion who’s about proving herself. And I’m going to be that champion.”

“Now I know it’s not that simple. I know the challenges that stand in front of me in order to get back there. But hey, I’ve never shied away from a challenge before, have I? I’m damn sure not starting now. And challenge number one comes this Sunday night in the form of a fatal fourway match to determine the number one contender for the SCW World Championship, and this fatal fourway is going to be a hell of a match,” she says with a smirk on her face. “It’s going to be a hell of a match because of the competition, and it’s going to be a hell of a match because the winner of this one will undoubtedly have proved they’ve earned the shot. Well, that is if this match is about what it should be about. But there are two people in this match who don’t care about earning it. There are two people in this match for whom proving they deserve it is secondary to their own convoluted belief that they should already have it, and nobody epitomises that more than Kennedy Street. You remember Kennedy Street, right? Of course you do. She’s the girl who only competes four times a year because apparently she’s better than all of us and doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone. She’s the girl who got humbled on the grandest stage, not unlike me a few years ago, but unlike me chose to hide behind an iPad and whine rather than get in the ring and prove herself. But that’s kind of been her thing from day one, so I don’t know why anyone is actually surprised…”

“Ok, so maybe this is the first time she’s LITERALLY been hiding behind a computer screen and refusing to even enter arenas – or matches until the last second – unless she’s just handed something that everyone else has to earn, but c’mon guys, this isn’t exactly a new thing for her, she’s just taken it to an even more convoluted level. But she’s been hiding behind a keyboard for a long time, whining on social media that she deserves this and she deserves that and she’s better than everyone else, and claiming it’s ‘abuse’ whenever she doesn’t get her way. And all I’ve wanted to do every time she says that word is to get her in the ring so I can show her what real abuse is all about,” she says before laughing. “Now I’d like to think that I’d get to do that on Sunday, that I’d get to stand toe to toe with her, that I’d get to fight her again for the first time since I beat her back at the pay per view named after her, when I proved she was anything but flawless, but we all know that that’s not the way she operates now, is it? Like I said, Kennedy’s taken her bullshit to the ultimate extreme and now it seems like she doesn’t show up for the beginning of matches, or the middle of matches, and instead she thinks she can sneak in at the end and she thinks that that means something. And of course she does, because she has never known once what it means to truly deserve something in her life!”

“She likes throwing around that word though. She likes telling people what she deserves. She deserves a rematch. She deserves to have the belt handed back to her. She deserves unlimited opportunities. She deserves a parade! But I’m not the only one around here who knows what she really deserves. But this Sunday I’m not expecting her to show up and fight. I’m expecting her to hide in the back. I’m expecting her to wait for an opportunity. I’m expecting her to try to sneak in and steal it at the end. And I’m expecting that she’ll think that that makes her the greatest star ever, the girl who only needs one move to win a match, but when she tries that this time around I intend to show her that it only takes me one move to make sure she LOSES a match as well, when I drop her on the face in the middle of the ring with the Total Makeover,” she says before laughing. “And it’s about time that Kennedy got a proper makeover as well, and I don’t mean a physical one. She gets a lot of those. But this Sunday, if she tries her bullshit again, if she tries to steal this match, if she thinks she can continue down the path she’s on, I intend to give her an emotional makeover when I send her crawling to the back in tears crying about how she deserved to win this and she deserves to be the next contender, because Kennedy this pains me to say out loud but you’ve got the talent to be a legitimate champion, but you choose again and again not to use it.”

“The fact is that you COULD be a champion that people respect. You COULD be a champion that people admire. You COULD be a champion that little girls want to grow up to be, but instead you’ve proven in the past the only kind of champion you’re willing to be is the kind that makes a great guest on Jerry Springer,” she says before rolling her eyes. “But yet this Sunday I remain hopeful that there’s some little part of you who wants to do things the right way. This Sunday I remain hopeful that there’s some little part of you who actually wants to show you DESERVE this chance. But I’m deluding myself, aren’t I? I know I am. You proved the kind of person you are before. You showed the kind of champion you’d be. Bullshit gauntlets you make your opponents run just to fight you, armies of lackeys gathered around to protect you, you wouldn’t be the kind of champion this company needs right now to restore HONOUR to the top prize, you’re just another part of the problem and a part that needs to be stomped out. But I dare you to try and stomp me out this Sunday, ‘honey’. I dare you to try your bullshit with me because I’ve been itching for a long time to finish what we started back in April and I might just get my chance, and this time you won’t have Dante to save you. You want to know something funny though Kennedy? It’s like I said I actually learned recently that I can’t have children, but of the four of us in this match you’re the only one who shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce because the world already has enough bitches.”

“And that’s actually a nice segue to move on to another woman in this match, one who’s been called ‘mommy’ more than a few times herself. Now personally I don’t get that. You torture someone, you torment them, you injure them, you ruin their lives, and then you claim you’ve recreated them? I guess someone like Dawn Lohan doesn’t need much help in thinking she’s been born again, I mean it wouldn’t be the first time, right? But even so it’s worse than creepy, don’t you think? Yet all of that, rather than giving Dawn Lohan the deep-seated desire to kick her head off her shoulders, led to Dawn calling Red Rayne ‘mother’. Is that over now? Was losing the World title a big no-no for her? Wouldn’t be the first time. I seem to remember her being in the background when someone else lost the World title and got thrown off the bandwagon once before, right? Loyalty only means something as long as you can deliver the goods, but the moment you can’t you cease being useful?” she asks before shrugging her shoulders. “I don’t know. Frankly I don’t think I want to know. But I’m not stupid enough to believe for a moment that this means the alliance between the former World Champion and the potential future World Champion is gone for good, just like I’m not stupid enough to turn my back completely this Sunday night with the expectation that, in a match with no disqualifications and no count outs, there wouldn’t be a blood thirsty army of assholes waiting to put a knife in it.”

“The fact is though that as much as I don’t like what they stand for, as much as I don’t like what they’ve done to people in the past, and as much as I think it’s beyond gross the stuff they do to opponents, I can’t deny that if I was going to pick four of the best to compete for the number one contendership spot right now that Red Rayne would definitely be amongst the contenders. Anyone who thinks otherwise would have to be crazy! The woman was the very definition of a champion when she was holding the Adrenaline title, and there were many in the back who thought that she would continue holding that title until injury took it from her, because they started to believe that there was nobody on the roster who could. Nobody, that is, until Selena Frost stepped up. But look at everything that Selena had to do to get that title away from her. And look at everyone else who she beat along the way in one of the greatest reigns of any champion,” she says in an admiring tone. “Now they weren’t always the most legitimate of wins but they were wins, and there really aren’t many people in the world, let alone on the roster, who could have done what Red Rayne did in the Shot of Adrenaline tournament. So you know what? I have no problem at all with her inclusion in this match this Sunday, something I may end up regretting saying. And I’ll have no problem stepping up to the challenge either.”

“You see she’s something new for me. She’s someone I’ve not fought in this kind of environment before. But she’s someone I know very well. She’s someone I helped defend SCW against before. And this Sunday I’ll be looking to defend everything that I believe that the SCW World Championship should stand for as well when I take her on and I do everything I can to get the win, because while I have absolutely no doubt that the worst possible choice for the number one contender coming out of this match would be Kennedy Street I’ll be honest guys, I’m not overly convinced we need more blood baths and even more talk of ‘purging’ either,” she says before shaking her head. “You see what I think we need right now when it comes to the top championship is order, and Red Rayne is pretty much the opposite of that. She’s chaos personified. She thrives in chaos. That makes this match this Sunday play into her hands though, right? Well it very well could do. It could be her moment this Sunday. It could be her time to shine. She wouldn’t be the first former Adrenaline Champion to very quickly capture the top prize, would she? That belt has a history of making World Champions. But at the Final Level, when the final curtain falls, I’m determined that that won’t be a curtain dripping red, I’m determined there won’t be more chaos in our future, and I’m determined this Sunday when Red Rayne steps up I do too, and I prove that I can beat her in front of the world.”

“You see in my mind, while there are four individuals in this match all of whom have a legitimate basis for being here, there are only two that can give the company what it needs right now. One of them is me, obviously, and the other… and this is not easy for me to say, given our history… is Regan Street. You see when it comes to Regan I almost made a mistake not too long ago. I almost let my personal history with her get in the way of something that she was trying to do. I regret that. I looked at her and I didn’t see someone trying to take down Silas World from the inside, I saw someone looking to benefit from the bullshit of it all. Fortunately I had a conversation with Tommy that stopped me before I said something or did something that would have ruined it, and for the record I’m proud of Regan for doing what she did, I’m proud of Regan for pulling the wool over the wolf’s eyes, I’m proud of her for taking down one of the biggest problems SCW has faced, but I know that that was only the start of things for her. I know what she wants next, and it’s what she’s wanted for a very long time. She’s wanted it for so long it’s a big part of the reason that we have those personal issues – well, that and the fact that she tried to sleep with my boyfriend on numerous occasions, but, you know, that’s kind of old news now, right? – and that’s the SCW World Championship,” she says before smirking a little. “Yah, it’s something we’ve both always wanted. Now we’re fighting over it again, sort of.”

“Now what can I say about Regan Street that I’ve not said before? I don’t like her. We know that. She doesn’t like me. We know that. We have a long history. We know that too. But right now if it’s not going to be me who wins this thing then I’d want it to be her,” she says before pausing and then laughing to herself. “Wow, ok, that was difficult to say. It’s true though. You see the truth is that I’m never going to forgive her for what she did to me. I’m never going to forget what she did either. But this Sunday it’s not about that. This Sunday it’s not about her and me. This Sunday it’s not about us fighting over our personal differences. This Sunday it’s about way more than that. This Sunday it’s about us both fighting to prove ourselves as the top contender. This Sunday it’s about the two of us fighting for the very same goal, well aware that we’re going to have to go over the other one if we’re going to achieve it, and both being more than happy to do exactly that! This Sunday is an opportunity for her to step up her game, to step up to another level, and maybe even to stake her claim on her husband’s spot. Someone is going to take it after this Sunday, am I right? And she has a legitimate opportunity to claim it. She has a chance to be the best and I know how much that means to her. I know how much an opportunity at the World title would mean to her. And she’ll tell you she’s waited long enough, right?”

She smiles and nods her head. “She’s not wrong. A year ago she was winning the contendership for the title. A year ago she was fighting her way through a tournament, a tournament that also included, if I recall, a Kennedy Street forfeit because Kennedy ‘doesn’t do tournaments, honey’. That’s just further proof of what an amazing champion Kennedy would make, right? But a year ago Regan seized upon the opportunity in front of her and proved that nobody could stop her, even David, from claiming what she wanted. Then it was all set, her and me one on one in the most emotionally charged match I’ve ever had, arguably up until my match with David at Rise to Greatness. And after that? Well she’s been distracted a while. She did beat me while I was wearing the belt though. That made her a contender. Unfortunately Kennedy stepped into the spot and the rest is history. But when it comes to waiting there’s no doubt that Regan has waited long enough for another chance,” she says before letting out a sigh. “You know it’s not going to do anything to mend the differences between us if I’m the one who gets to do what I intend to do this Sunday, and that’s make her wait a little longer. That is the plan though. I won’t deny that Regan has proven herself before, I won’t deny that she’s fought her way into this position, and I won’t deny that she’s a very different person to the bitch I wanted to see fail a year ago… but that doesn’t mean I want to see her succeed today.”

“There’s only one outcome I’m going to be happy with come Sunday. That outcome is me leaving the ring with the number one contendership assured, to go on to fight either Kelcey Wallace or Ravyn Taylor. Now I know who I’d prefer to see win. I also know the difficult position that puts me in regarding her. God knows I don’t want to be the one who takes the World title from Ravyn. I also don’t want to face her and lose. But I have a goal right now and I will stop at nothing to achieve that goal. I am GOING to be become a four time World Champion. I am GOING to lead this company the way it deserves to be led. It’s time to put the gang assaults, the blood baths and the controversy behind us. It’s time to move forward, as 2016 approaches, with a World Championship scene based on HONOUR, on RESPECT and on DETERMINATION. It’s time this company once again have a champion the people can be proud of, who represents them and fights the challenges they want to see. And as the curtain falls on David Helms’ illustrious career it’s time for someone else to step up and lead the company,” she says with pride, “and that means it’s time for me to deliver on the big stage. This Sunday I fight three of the best once again, this Sunday I step up to another huge challenge, and this Sunday I overcome once again because it’s like I said before guys, I was BORN TO DO THIS, and this Sunday the only thing I’m going to have to say to anyone who doubts that is JUST BE JEALOUS!”

She kisses her hand before blowing the kiss at the camera and then taking a moment, seeming in reflection, before nodding her head slowly. “See you Sunday,” she says as the video ends with the screen turning black and then the replay button flashing up on the screen.
