The video begins and we see the inside of a hotel room, presumably one in Kansas City, Missouri, the home of Retribution 2016. Rather than drawing any attention to the background however our focus is immediately drawn to Syren who, while dressed in a pink t-shirt and light blue jeans, is adorned with more than just her clothes. Around her arm there’s some bandages and taping, and while her head shows no obvious bandaging she has a plaster on her forehead, perhaps a result of bleeding after being put through the announce table on Breakdown. In all however she looks considerably less than one hundred percent healthy, and instead of her normal smile we get more of a welcoming nod. “Hey guys. So, Breakdown was interesting,” she says before putting a hand around to the back of her neck and holding it there for a moment before letting out a sigh. “You know I’m not even going to tell you that I’m surprised by what happened. I’m not. I can’t say that I’ve been honestly surprised by most of this bullshit for a while now. I mean we all know what Monarchy are all about, right? They claim they’re about respect. They claim their about tradition. What they’re really all about is group attacks, cheap shots and hash tags. The latest one that caught my attention was all about how they no longer have any faith in Mr D, which I presume is because he hasn’t been handing them EVERYTHING they’ve wanted lately, just… most of it.”

“Still, on Breakdown we saw Trinity Street making this really big speech, and it was mostly blah, blah, blah, same old Trinity bullshit, you know the sort I’m talking about. Chanel this, Kelcey that, Perfection this, future of the business that, some talk about she’s going to murder CHBK on Sunday – only like the nine hundred and forty second person to say that in just the six and a half years I’ve been here but whatever – you know, standard diatribe. And then she starts talking shit about me. ‘Tonight I’m going to get Syren or Ravyn Taylor. I’ll make sure Ravyn can’t defend the US title’ or whatever it was. I mean I did get hit really hard on the head on Wednesday, so you’ll have to forgive me if I’m a little bit groggy on the details, but there she is in the middle of the ring and she’s calling my name. And I know there are a ton of people in this business who claim they ‘never hide from a challenge’, and all that stuff, right up until, you know, they DO hide from a challenge, but for the last two and a half years I can put my hand on my heart and tell you I’ve not been hiding from a GODDAMN person. So Trinity tells me she wants to fight, and I’m like ok, let’s do this…” she says before shaking her head and letting out a sigh. “But when one of the Monarchy tells you they want a fight what they actually mean is they want to hide behind all their friends.”

“So you think this is new to me? No, it’s not new to me. Elimination Chamber, remember? Sole survivor. Beat Trinity. Beat Lucas. Beat Chris. Been there. Done that. MORE than happy to do it again! So she brings her friends and I bring some of my own, and we get ourselves not a match like she claims to have wanted but another Monarchy showing of strength and power, which for them is something to hash tag about but for the rest of us is something to face palm over because what they see as strength and power the rest of us see as COWARDICE. But by the time the night was over Trinity got what she wanted I guess, right? She ‘got’ Syren. She put me through the announce table on Breakdown. She hurt my head. She hurt my arm. She hurt my chest. And after the multiple attacks on me I’ve got a bad back, I’m WAY less than one hundred percent, and right now I’m sitting here recovering and there are TWO things that I’m thinking about and neither one of them is having a day off, or what army I’m going to recruit to get my revenge, the two things I’m thinking about are dropping Trinity Street on her face, again, and walking into Triple Jeopardy on Sunday night with a half dozen injuries, taking on one of the BEST in the HISTORY of this company in the first round, beating him, winning the triple threat and walking out of Retribution as the Number One Contender to the SCW World Heavyweight Championship and right now I dare any single one of you to tell me that I WON’T do EXACTLY that tomorrow night.”

“You know I went through hell on Breakdown, I got beaten down and put through the announce table and there was a time when, with a match like Triple Jeopardy coming up, I would have done everything in the world to AVOID a moment like that specifically because of this, and this, and this,” she says, pointing at her arm, and head, and neck, “but right now I’m not avoiding anything. I know what I’ve got coming up against me though. I know the insane struggle that’s ahead of me on Sunday. And believe me, of the six of us included in this match I’M the one who knows a little something about ‘Jeopardy’ because I’ve been here before, I’ve done this before, and I needed every ounce of strength in me to get through it the first time. The first time for me, for those of you who don’t remember, was Syren versus Lucas Knight and Thorn versus Shaun Cruze, World title on the line in the first one, US title on the line in the second, and then World title on the line again when the winners clashed in the final. I beat Lucas. Tommy beat Shaun. I beat Tommy. I walked out the way I walked in, as the SCW World Champion, and a lot of you doubters are going to remind me that it was the Interim title and sure, you can call it that if you want, but on that night I beat two of the best back to back so you can call it the Interim title if you want but you can’t deny that night put that title at the top of this company.”

“Sunday night though the odds get stacked up even higher. Sunday night the difficulty steps up another level. And Sunday night four new people and two old veterans get a chance to fire their way into the main event scene, and for me in spite of Wednesday night there is nothing more important than that. Because this is what I want, guys. This is what I’ve been working toward. This is what I’ve been pursuing. And I’ve been pursuing it for a year now, because that’s how long it’s been. It’s been a year since Kennedy Street took the World title from me. It’s been eleven months since I had her beat in the ring and I got screwed out of the title by Kennedy Club, or whatever they called themselves. And it’s been four months since the Fatal Four Way, four months since my last chance to fight my way back into the main event scene, and while I was hoping that this Sunday would see me given that chance I wasn’t standing around with my hand out demanding it. That’s because ever since I lost that title I’ve been pinned a grand total of one time,” she says proudly, holding up a single figure to emphasise the point. “That one loss? Best of the Best last year, semi-finals, against David Helms, the eventual winner and the guy I beat at Rise to Greatness a few months later. In the last twelve months I’ve been pinned one time and I’ve not been crying or campaigning or hash tagging how much I hate Mr D, I’ve been fighting ANYONE and EVERYONE to get back what I want.”

“And you see guys that’s the difference between me and Trinity Street, and me and Kelcey Wallace, and me and Jake Starr, and me and Vixen Cain, is that I don’t walk around telling everyone who’ll listen that I’m the best and therefore I deserve everything now-now-now, throw a tantrum when I don’t get it and declare the world is against me. No, I walk out to that ring every single night and I PROVE that I’m the BEST FEMALE WRESTLER IN THE WORLD and SECOND TO NO MAN! That’s what I do. That’s what I’m about. And while Jake Starr is doing his ha-ha-oh-so-funny comedy act routine in the build up to Sunday I’m not joking, I’m not laughing, I’m not poking fun, I’m healing up as best as I can from another ass-kicking and preparing to go out there and fight a three-time World Champion, a Supreme Champion, a guaranteed Hall of Famer, just for the OPPORTUNITY to fight for the OPPORTUNITY to fight for the World title. Think about that for a second, ok? Because that’s what this is,” she says before laughing to herself. “This Sunday it’s me and Jake one on one for one more time and it never gets old. I never get tired of facing him. And that’s not because he’s super entertaining because, well, we all know he’s not, but because to be the best you’ve got to fight the best and you’ve got to beat the best and that’s what Jake is.”

“And Jake right now? He’s on a bit of a roll at the moment, right? He’s a contender for the World Tag Team Championships. He’s one of the favourites for the Adrenaline Championship. He fails there and he’s immediately part of one of the biggest matches of 2016 for contendership to the World Championship. Jake is all over the place right now. Jake’s star is burning hot. And I know that an unmotivated Jake Starr is dangerous but now he has what he wants in his sights, now he has a World title shot right there in front of him, I know a motivated Jake Starr can beat anyone. But Jake has to know that a motivated Syren, put through the announce table or not… well, she can beat anyone too,” she says before nodding her head and smirking. “And Jake and I, we’re going to go to war. So you can take what the likes of Trinity Street whine about to heart and you can think that Jake and I shouldn’t be here, or you can tune in this Sunday night and you can watch the lengths that Jake is willing to go to, the underhanded tactics he’s willing to use, and every limit he’s willing to push himself to in order to beat me and you can watch me go out there, give everything I’ve got, STEAL ANOTHER SHOW and overcome EVERY obstacle to make it to the final three where things REALLY get interesting and the prize for winning is what six people are going to put themselves through hell for.”

“Because it’s like I said before, facing Jake Starr is a huge match, a huge opportunity, the kind of opportunity I thrive on, the kind of opportunity I dream about getting, but facing Jake Starr is only for the opportunity for the opportunity to fight for the World title. If I get past Jake, and I know that’s a pretty damn big if, then what’s waiting for me in the final is the winner of Dalton Hughes versus Matt Auclair and the winner of Collin Cole versus Rachel Foxx, and does it get much better than that? I mean seriously, does it? Because I don’t know about you guys but to me THIS is exciting! What you’ve got with Jake and me is two who’ve been there before and done it all. What you’ve got in the other two matches is four who haven’t been there before, and who want to be,” she says with genuine excitement and anticipation in her voice. “And while there are a bunch of people who are whining it should be them, it should be them, to me THIS is what makes SCW so exciting. It’s opportunity. It’s the kind of opportunity that I’ve always wanted my whole career, and it’s the kind of opportunity I used to give out willingly when I was World Champion. It’s the opportunity for guys to make their mark, and if that’s Dalton Hughs powering his way to success on Sunday then he gives the triple threat match the single most incredible dynamic of all, doesn’t he?”

Still she seems genuinely excited as she talks. “I mean can you imagine Dalton beating Matt on Sunday? He’s new around here still, relevantly speaking, and I know a lot of guys look at him and they think he’s slow, and they think he’s lacking the experience, they’re thinking he’s never won the big one, but this Sunday he could find himself up against Rachel Foxx and Syren in the final and how does Rachel or I stop someone who’s six foot seven? How does someone our size stop someone three hundred and eighty pounds? The guy is a walking mountain. They call him the Tank, presumably because he’s as big as one. And if he gets rolling this Sunday, if he takes out Auclair in the first round, you guys could see the biggest threat – literally – to the SCW World Championship in I don’t even know HOW long. And people have been looking at this and asking me ‘Syren, if he makes it to the finals, and you’re there, how do you stop him? How do you stop a Tank?’ and I’ll tell you the same thing I told them: I have absolutely NO idea… but I’m going to give it everything I’ll have left to find out! Because you know the old saying ‘the bigger they are, the harder they fall’? Well, that’s partly true, but also the bigger they are the harder they hit you, and the bigger they are the further they can throw you. So if it’s Dalton this Sunday night how does Syren stop a TANK? Tune in and find out.”

She smirks playfully at the camera before rubbing the back of her neck again and letting out a sigh. “Oh god though, I’ll be honest with you, I’m hurting about enough as it is, so you know if I don’t have to face a Tank on Sunday, and I just have to face a guy who hits harder than ANYONE else instead, then… well, that’ll be fun too,” she says before laughing again. “See I don’t know Dalton very well, I’ve not been in the ring with him, but I know Matt Auclair pretty damn well, and I know something about Matt Auclair that took him to the Underground Championship, something about Matt Auclair that made him a force to be reckoned with in any division in SCW, and that’s that they call that shot he hits you with the Deathblow, and I’m pretty sure they call it that because when he hits you with it you feel like you’re about to die. Trust me, I know. So if anyone is going to actually stop a Tank on Sunday night it could be Matt himself, and if he does that, if he walks into the final match, if he’s part of the triple threat match he’s going to have two targets to land on, and he does that to one of us and Matt Auclair is your new number one contender. They said they wanted someone new, right? Well there’s your new right there. This Sunday it could be Matt Auclair’s time. This Sunday it could be Matt Auclair’s moment. And this Sunday I know Matt Auclair, I know what he’s capable of, I know what he’s bringing to the dance, but even when you’re the ‘Perfect Weapon’ you can still experience a Total Makeover.”

She smirks again before laughing. “And that brings us to the final two. That brings us to Collin Cole and Rachel Foxx. That brings us to two more people I know amazingly well, two more people I’ve had matches with, and one of whom I’ve had a few classics with. Because Rachel and me have been in that ring a lot of times, and I’ve seen her compete in the Death Chamber, I’ve seen her practically scalp people with weapons and rip their hair out of their heads, I’ve seen her take more punishment in one night and keep coming back than I’d imagine DALTON is capable of absorbing, so I have a ton of respect for Rachel Foxx already, but ever since she’s set her goal on the World title, ever since she’s set her mind on achieving the one thing that’s left for her, I’ve seen motivation, I’ve seen determination, and I’ve seen desire,” she says, nodding her head and smiling. “She’s another one straight out of the Shot of Adrenaline, just like Collin and just like Jake. She’s someone who was in the Shot of Adrenaline right to the end, just like Collin and just like Jake. She’s someone who took Selena Frost, a woman I’ve got a ton of respect for, right to the limit. She’s someone who took Christy Matthews, another I’ve got a ton of respect for, right to the limit. She’s someone who took the Trios Tournament right to the limit. She’s right there. She’s on the verge. You can feel it. She’s one big win away and Sunday could be that big win, Sunday could be that conclusion to the quest she’s been on.”

“And I don’t know why I’m telling you guys this because you’ve seen it too, right? You’ve watched her. You know how good she is. You know what she’s capable of. You know that there is nobody tougher in this business than Rachel Foxx. And on Sunday, if she gets past Collin Cole, that gives me the challenge of putting her down, and I know how insane it’s going to be but guys, you all know that if it’s Rachel and me in that ring on Sunday and she steps up her level then I’m stepping up mine, and on Sunday if it’s her and me as a part of the final three then one of us gets the chance at the opportunity we’ve been questing for, and as much as respect Rachel, that one will be me,” she promises before smiling again. “And finally that leaves me with Collin Cole. And the reason I left Collin until last is because Collin and I have something pretty big in common this Sunday. This Sunday we’re both going to watch as, according to you-know-who, an icon of this business is being retired. And he’s a guy we’ve both looked up to. He’s a guy we’ve both respected. He’s a guy who’s had a huge impact on both of our careers. And whatever happens on Sunday I think it’s going to have a huge effect on both of us. But whatever happens on Sunday that’s outside of our control we’ve both got to push it out of minds and we’ve both got to push on to what we want, and I think that’s something we’re both going to do.”

“And like a lot of others – like, basically all six of us, actually – Collin is another guy that people question whether he should be in this match on Sunday and, like all the others, I tell anyone who questions him to me that they’re wrong to doubt him. Because Collin Cole has been around SCW for a long time, he’s a veteran of this company, he’s a veteran of that ring, and he’s capable of beating anyone on any night. And people say they want someone new, people say they want someone different, and Collin Cole could very well be that guy,” she says, nodding her head sincerely. “And I’ve got a ton of respect for Collin, like I have everyone else in this match, but at the end of the day it’s Triple Jeopardy on Sunday night, six of us walk in and one of us walks out the top contender to the SCW World Heavyweight Championship, and guys you know my story. I told the world I would fight my way from the bottom to the top and that’s what I’ve been doing. I told the world that I would never back down from a challenge and I never have. One year ago at Retribution I lost the SCW World Heavyweight Championship, and on Sunday night I don’t care HOW many announce tables I’ve been put through I’m stepping into that ring and I’m putting it all on the line, I’m fighting with everything I’ve got and I’m intending to finish the night STANDING TALL in that ring as the number one contender to the biggest prize in this business, and for those who support me in that I love you all and I’ll see on Sunday, and for those of you who don’t? BE TOTALLY JEALOUS!”

She steps forward and kisses the camera lens before flinching again and holding her neck one final time and then lets out a sigh. “Well, nobody ever said fighting your way to the top was going to be easy…”

With that the scene fades out to black as the video ends and the replay button flashes up on the screen.
